My boyfriend and I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at the lovely Pousada Brigite Hostel, hosted by Brigite herself.  We received the warmest welcome with open arms from a woman who is unique, worldly (she speaks at least 5 language) and charismatic. She is passionate about many things and you can have many interesting discussions with her. We have been traveling in South America for 2 years and it's a rare place that we feel like home.  Brigite treated us like family and gave us space where we can feel comfortable.  The pousada is spotless and well appointed with one of the best views in a city I've ever seen! That view! Perched high above, you can see all of Blumenau. There are many places to relax on her giant balcony so you can really enjoy the view and the sunsets there. We are interested in foods and Brigite wasted no time telling us where to go and even introducing us to people in the know.  Our room was perfect-very clean with its own bathroom.  The breakfast is plentiful and all things are the best quality.  I never had such good honey in my life!  If you tell Brigite what you like, she will be sure to make sure she puts it out for you.  I honestly don't understand the bad reviews I see here.  Some people are never happy.  We are so glad we stayed here-you get a really good value for your money and best of all you get welcomed like you are at home.  Brigite opens her heart as well as her home, I will always remember our stay here.  Do not hesitate.

More than a hostel-a real home! Best place to stay in Blumenau!

Very good Breakfast,
But one of the best things for me was the panoramic view over the city of Blumenau. The only disapointing thing is that a palm is blocking some of the view. (hope you get the pun).
All Taxis we took knew "Pousada Brigite".

What a fantastic view!

My name is Dor, and I was staying about four days in Pousada Brigite, Blumenau, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
I feel that I am committed to register the criticism that the information that appears on booking.com misleading, and as I made a mistake deciding to stay there, I met more people disappointed than pleased, and I assumed that people will make the same mistake I did.

I stayed in the pousada brigite during the last weekend of Oktoberfest. From things, the place was full, but despite the logic the place was not prepared at all.

I arrived on Thursday morning after a grueling overnight trip from Sao Paulo. I will traveling more than nine months in total in South America, I spent countless hostels. I'm not sure what the definition of the Pousada, but this place, Pousada Brigite not meet the definition of a hostel in any way.

I'll start that the hostel's owner, Brigite is a nice older woman, but she does not know how to tend people. From things, when you are traveling in an unfamiliar place, you have quite a few requests, but  Mrs. briigte made sure that you  willhave feelings of guilt after each application. Whether it is to call the taxi and whether it is doing a checkout from the hostel. Legitimate requests each hostel.

In addition, the hostels I know there is always at least one person at reception. In this case, not only was no one at reception, but most of the time Mrs. brigite was not even there! This came when the guests have something they did not have someone to turn to. The lady had only two employees came to help her breakfast, and which is not referred to as an employer to treat an employee.

On Thursday, the lady didn't gave me a key to the door of the place (which I do not even know because every other hostels I stayed where there was always someone sitting in reception), and I had to wait more than three hours outside the hostel without can enter the room at 35 degrees. In the rain. I wanted to stay at the Oktoberfest (which is nowhere near the hostel) at 7 pm, but only at 7 pm the lady came from shopping, of course, laid the blame on one of its employees who have to give me the key. If the lady was paying to an employee to sitting in the reception, all this would not have happened. And God knows hostel guests paid enough to have a minimum service that did not exist. In addition, she said it is my fault because I should have called here to come. I sorry Mrs. But I have no phone calls in Brazil because I’m not Brazilian, just internet. I ask one of my Brazilian friend to call here around 6pm and she succeeded, yet the lady arrived more then a hour later. 

The Mrs. Has a dog was there and did pee on the balcony and reception, leaving behind the smell of urine everywhere. Bins not emptied rooms throughout the weekend, and the bins emptied once a day, might be even less.

Breakfast was reasonable, but on Sunday morning he was in fact the morning after the longest night of the party, the lady was alone and had to take care of everyone, but failed. For example, there was no coffee for breakfast and people had to wait long to get out. She complained that she was alone. Guests are not guilty of it, the lady had to bring in more workers.

To a group of six girls Brazilian She said she will give a room with three bunk beds, which of course did not happen eventually, and one of them had to sleep on a mattress on the floor.

The bunks beds and the room were incredibly small. You couldn’t even sit if you were in the lower bed. Not good considering that all the guests were grown up people.

When I wanted to check out, she complained that she was awake, and claimed she wanted to take  a day off, but I’m pretty sure that is not my fault that I had th option to check-out on on the website. Then she showed me a place "secret" to leave the key when if she will not be there not be there. Such a lack of professionalism I havent not seen before.

This place is not worth 160 reals a night, not the Oktoberfest and every other day, and the truth is not worth much lower price. During the 24 years of my life I was staying in countless places through booking.com, but it was a shocking experience. As stated, this place is definitely not a hostel, and you change the name that appears that you are doing is actually misleading the consumer.
