We stayed with Susan and Peter for a week.  We had the BEST time with them. Such a warm, welcoming place. So clean, friendly atmosphere. The fire, music, relaxed attitudes. We met people from all over the world. Breakfast was plenty and delicious. We felt very much at home. Excellent value for money. Lots of laughter, nothing was too much trouble, airport pick up great. Highly recommended

Best week

We have travelled the world and this place is more one star than four ! Looks like a tip out front , long way from anywhere , no covered area for the car ( storms happen in this area ) Pool is not sterilized. Rain tank drinking water ( no one told us ) Rooms are dark and dingy and dusty . " Best bedroom"  room closets are used  for hosts storage  and stink of mothballs. Host insisted on cash payment which we paid BEFORE we inspected the rooms . Big mistake.

Awful .Nothing like the pics or reviews

Huge garden, beautiful pool and fragrant towels/bedding. In my opinion best suited to Guests with their own transport as property is a fair distance from town and amenities & it’s a long way to walk (or cycle on loaned bike) given the climate. Decor dated & very dark internally. Bedrooms & bathroom require clearly distinguishing from each other as they all have identical, unidentified doors; another Guest mistakenly entered my room in the night when trying to find the shared bathroom! My first experience Bedbugs, after many years of travelling. My bed was riddled with them & I was badly bitten; truly awful. From the Hosts reaction this was not an unfamiliar problem. Until these issues are fully addressed I would recommend Guests steer clear.

Needs updating & Bedbug treatment.

Last-minute booking. Both Peter and Susan were friendly and helpful, generous with information and suggestions. I loved the house and walking around gardens-so much wildlife (birds and peacocks and kangaroos) and greenery. Very grateful Susan & Peter were happy to answer all my questions! 
The pool was pretty, bathroom well-stocked for visitors, aircon worked well, kitchen available for my use, and I felt very comfortable there. Definitely a repeat stay if I'm ever again in Hervey Bay. Peter was good enough to drive me or arrange with others for me to have a lift back toward the beach/esplanade for shopping & restaurants, so for me, lacking a car wasn't a drawback.

Great stay - wonderful memory!

Stayed here for 1 night while visiting the area. Enjoyed a few cold beers by the pool listening to the abundance of wildlife. Very comfortable room and great conversation with Peter and Susan. This is the real deal!

A Truly Authentic Aussie Welcome

Susan and Peter are very nice hosts and they have a lovely and clean house. We spent two great nights here. They were very helpful and have a huge great garden (if you are lucky - as we were - you even get to see kangurus in their garden).  The location is calm - but I recomend a car as it is about a 5 minute drive away from town.

Stayed here recently with my Mum when we came to Hervey bay to see the whales.May I, first of all, say that Peter and Susan are terrific hosts,so warm and hospitable, nothing was too much trouble.The property itself is in a quiet setting surrounded by lovely gardens,it was very peaceful being able to sit outside.Its not too far from the centre of town either.Breakfast was help yourself continental and it was delicious, really set us up for the day.Thanks for a great stay Peter and Susan.You made our 2 day visit to beautiful Hervey bay really special.

Relaxing stay with lovely hosts

Peter & Susan are wonderful hosts. There when needed and they left us alone to enjoy their garden. Handy to town but you do need a car. Plenty of walks & they have bikes to ride. Easy breakfast, self serve and plenty of room for the dog to play.
