Very relaxed atmosphere. Adam was very accomodating and helpful. All facilities and rooms were very clean. The reception provided hire for paddleboards, kayaks and stinger suits. They also had a basic range of gorceries for sale which is useful as the closest supermarket was in Nelly Bay. The place is 30 seconds from Picnic Bay beach and a bus stop with a regular service across the island. We really enjoyed staying here and wish we had done so for longer

My partner and I , spent 2 nights, the hostel is very clean, tidy , cozy , was amazing experience , I felt at home.
Adam  is very friendly and try to help with everything.
We loved our experience !

High recommendation

Fantastic place to stay. The kitchen is just fantastic and so are all the communal areas. We loved staying here. It was friendly with a very warm atmosphere. The rooms are wonderful and everything is clean. The linen is crisp and the sinks and fridges in the room are a total bonus. Close to the bus stop and pub, this is the only place I would stay on the island. We came for one night and stayed for a few more than planned. Thanks to Adam for creating a terrific hostel where everyone feels part of a family albeit for just a few days.

I'm just about to book a 3 weeks stay at CStay.....again.
It will be the third time in 12 mth.!!!
I'm a 65 y.o. German that has travelled the world....been living in OZ for 40 and living in Cairns for 12 years.
Why do I keep coming back to CStay?
It got it all.....the right price.....spotless clean rooms.....with washing basin and a fridge.....great pool and BBQ area, yes the use of the BBQ and Pizza oven is free.....great outdoor entertaining area....Pup,Bottle shop ,Busstop and the best Italian restaurant is within 3 min.walking.
And the kitchen.....better equipd than most Aussie homes......the same goes for the lounge....armchairs all around....large TV screen.....open 24 hrs.
And last but not least........
Adam,the owner, is such a great guy......
He'll do just about anything to make your stay a happy and memorable one.
I've be coming to Magie.....as we locals call it for 40 years.....love it.....
Since I discovered CStay last year.....it's the only place I like to stay.....absolutely best value for your money!!!!

A hidden gem......at Magnetic Island

This was my first trip on Maggie (Magnetic Island)

Location: Great, close to Picnic Bay, 100m to the beach, 80m to the Picnic Bay Pub, Mama Roma's restaurant and the bus stop.

Staff: excellent, nothing is to much effort for them, thanks Adam

Facilities: great little pool, good dining area, a group table where you will have a new set of friends very quickly. A great BBQ and pizza oven. Great WiFi.

The Kitchen: a modern clean kitchen that has everything you need to cook up a storm, and coffee pods are available for a $1. 

Rooms: really comfortable, a good comfy bed, great quality sheets and loved the pillows, TV, AC, fridge.

Service: Adam the owner offered to get things from the shops for people and offered to take me to the ferry, that was awesome.

Cleanliness: top notch, whether it was the kitchen, the room or bathroom.

Transport: the bus network around the island is first class, you can get a cab or Uber if you want.

The Price: Great Value

Bottom line: Would I stay there again?
You can bet your sweet bippy I would, I will every time I visit.

Loved Staying at CStay

Came here for one day and stayed for a week! I’ll leave it at that!

Couldn’t fault the service and would be very surprised if there is another place that can compete value wise on the island. Will be returning and will have no problem recommending this place. Keep up the good work! 



Great value stay on maggie. Will 100% be back.

My boyfriend and me stayed here and really loved it. It is very clean and tidy. Each room has a silk and a little fridge! Quite helpful and I never see this in a hostel. Nice and clean pool and big kitchen.
Adam is an absolute legend and willing to help with everything. I really recommend it 100%!

Best Backpackers I’ve ever stayed

We had a lovely stay! The room was clean, kitchen had all the neccessary utilities and the manager deserves 5stars himself! - super helpful!
The location is also nice! I recommend walking to Tom thumbs for a beautiful sunset ;)

Lovely stay at Cstay

We had a clean, comfortable double bedroom (room 8) at CStay. Aircon was great. Handy having a sink and a frisge in the room too.
The bed was very nice.
The shared shower block is fine. It was always clean and we had hot, high pressured water all the time.
We used the laundry facilities ($3) whoch was great. Option to line dry if you want or dryer for extra $.
Staff friendly and helpful. The owner gave us a lift in his van when we were headed the same way.
CStay is meters from the sand at Picnic Bay. There is a nice jetty there too. Pjb and restaurant nearby.
It was very peaceful and we had a lovely stay.

Basic room, fantastic location on Picnic Bay

We stayed for 2 nights here whilst visiting magnetic island. 
Rooms are basic but clean, shared bathroom was good, handy to have a big washing line in the garden to use. 
The owners are very friendly and helpful. 
The place is quite quiet - on our second night we literally didn’t see another person which is positive or negative depending on what you want. 
The one negative was the air con being quite loud - not able to sleep with it on. 

Would recommend to others going to stay on Magnetic who aren’t wanting to stay somewhere party focused like Base
