De Paso Hostel facilities are quite nice and clean, but that is a far as it goes.

While staffed 24 hours a day, the attendants both during the day and at night spend all of the time surfing the Internet.

Most hotels / hostels know the surrounding area, and the kinds of tours that are available.  No one at De Paso Hostel would help me find a tour or anything to do in town.  In my experience, this is very unusual in Argentina.  Most hotels / hostels go out of their way to help you.  

THESE GUYS WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME FIND A TOUR IN NEUQUEN.

Specifically, I wanted to visit some bodegas (wineries).  One one call was made, and I was told they could not do anything else.  I just don't believe that.

If you just want a clean hostel to stay at, De Paso Hostel is acceptable, but if you will need some help for other things, I would suggest you stay somewhere else.

I bet the staff could teach Internet surfing really well.

The low rating was given primarily because the hostel staff was not very helpful to me,  Maybe this was just my problem.  However most of my ratings are pretty good or better.  You really have to try to get a bad rating from me?

Neuquen is a rather quiet town; and, if passing through, De Paso Hostel is a great place to stay. 

Why? 

The staff are friendly and knowledgeable; the facilities all work; and the place is generally spotless. Superb Wi-Fi and being located 200m away from a mall (and supermarket) are also big ticks. 

The location is not the greatest (as the center of town is a bit of a walk away). However, as there is not much to do in the city, this could be considered a plus.

A Little Gem

We stayed here a little while ago to break the journey between Patagonia and BA. The kitchen was nice. And the rooms okay,mwe didn't sleep too well for some reason, ween we left though the guy insisted on charging us extra because we checked out a tiny bit late,meven though no one else was arriving...

Okay

This has been the cleanest hostel in a long time, travelling in south america. The kitchen is very clean and ok equipped. 
The rooms are small, the beds very comfortable and clean with good linen and towels are provided for free. The only thing i would change is getting rid of the old carpet. 
Martin and Paula are friendly and very helpful. 
Breakfast is included and very simple and consists of tea or powder coffee and roasted but very dry and crunchy bread with butter and jam and cookies.
