Disappointment

The location is convenient: it is halfway between Luxor and Karnak, and there is a sack road that runs parallel but somewhat down to the Corniche. At night it is very quiet. Once this was one of the first addresses of the city but the enormous dimensions are only recognized when one enters the house. The guest receives a large lobby, to which a large middle dining room is attached, in which also the earliest is served. At the end of this hall, the visitor sees a large courtyard, in which there is a swimming pool with numerous rooms and also a terrace with very good facilities.

A highly recommended hotel, with a good price-performance ratio and a somewhat secluded and therefore very quiet location.

When we arrived at the New Windsor Hotel through a tourist agent, we never knew the number until we arrived at the hotel.When we arrived, we were really very surprised...for good...It's a hotel listed as 3 stars but really, I don't know if it reaches 2 stars.It's a time capsule, you enter there and you're ubiquitous in the early 1990s.It's noted that it had an exceptional past but that's not reflected at all today.While the room was old, the same era was spacious and clean, as was the rest of the facilities (eating room, reception, hallways, etc.).

Staff found to be friendly, rooms clean with suitable area, location near to river nile and the med town, suitable price.
You will find comfort stay in luxor with suitable prices at windsor  hotel. You can enjoy with sunset from your room.
You will find pool, but i did not use it.

Very bad hotel. hospitality and service is so bad. So for any one be aware of booking in this hotel, I attached more photos of this hotel. Bathroom is so bad. Food is very bad, I advise any one do not go to this hotel

Reality of this hotel

Well and cheap, nice staff whose one speaks French.... ask them something and if they can they will help you! as always the shower is not at the top, this must be a big problem in Egypt because they recur in small hotels! for the swimming pool, sunny in the morning unless the afternoon has the shade. no climate control but it works! the room is moderately large... breakfast included, but not much to eat... 110 the view of the room on the street in front of accommodation, nothing really amazing given that the hotel is located in a street exit. very Nile, but a little search of cafes etc. However... we are at the family terrace! the refrigerator is located too close (small noise! the problem is working!) so let's say the hotel is not too dirty and the hotel is not too far away from the hotel, but it is a nice place to eat!

center of the city but well

Very nice hotel very charming in this building the day before the 19th staff welcoming and available magnificent luxurious garden and beautiful swimming pool in front of the Nile very clean as well as a very good breakfast

Three days on the Nile

The room was not clean at all and the bath room was terrible. We waited couple of hours in the lobby to have a clean room, without any good result from the management of the hotel. We stayed just one night.

not clean, irresponsible management

Perhaps there was a time when the place rang with the excited chatter of happy guests. Not sure which century that might have been but it is not recent.
Amazed they can keep the doors open given the lack of tourists and the competition given its run down state.
No hot water to speak of- don't believe the let it run for a few minutes line!
Beds are foam blocks- very firm but bug free.
Breakfast was actually quite decent and ample. Best thing going for the place.
Location is not bad except if you are on the alley and trying to sleep when the school kids arrive through it.
Walking distance to the museum.
Limited English at the desk but they try.
You probably want to stay somewhere else.

So sad...

We were shown the hotel and to be honest for LE200 we couldn't complain. A FANTASTIC view of the Nile from the rooftop bar with exceptional Turkish coffees. 
The service was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the lack of hot water. In January you need hot water for showering as it is freezing! The room was cold but there was an ample supply of blankets. Happy to stay here again but on reflection after trying different hotels I would set the New Windsor as a second choice.

Good hotel, better ones out there, however, the view from the terrace is hard to beat!
