Sheraton Soma Bay Resort

I want to start my review by saying that you do not need to worry about the construction, that was my biggest concern but the noise was absolutely minimal and caused no disruption to our stay. The staff is great, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. There was an amazing selection at the breakfast and dinner buffets, I can’t even imagine the work that goes into buying the ingredients for so many dishes and cooking everything! The private beach is so gorgeous and well maintained, we loved the set up with the beach chairs and umbrellas. Super easy to get towels and drinks. We also loved the snorkeling and glass bottom boat offered by the hotel - there is NO need to deal with the hassle of going all the way to Hurghada to go to the famous snorkeling sites up there, the snorkeling near the hotel is perfect and way more convenient. Make sure to take advantage of the golf cart shuttle service to the marina, it runs frequently and the marina area is super fun. The hotel towels are the best I’ve ever used in my life and I’ve stayed at hundreds of different hotels. As someone who works in IT, I’m impressed by how good the WiFi is for such a large property, I know how hard it is to set up that network. Also, great treatment of Bonvoy members, we really appreciated the upgrade and the extra attentive service! We also really loved the water park, especially the big slide, and we are really looking forward to the new slides that will be added. We are two adults in their 30s and we visited the water park multiple times, the big slide is really that good! I also wanted to especially highlight the animation team, Sam Mika and Lulu They made our stay so fun and I really appreciate the hard work they put in to keep us entertained day after day. It was our first stay but we will definitely be coming back! Some other things to note: It can be hard to find out what activities are happening and when. Make sure to check out the TV screen inside L'Emporio Restaurant - we didn't notice this until Day 4 and it was essential to keep track of what was happening. There is a QR code you can scan for activities outside the Sea View restaurant, but during our stay it wasn't accurate/up to date. Wish it was easier to find out when the great activities that the animation team puts together are happening! Second, the hotel offers help booking private transfers but not taxis which can be tricky. If you'd like to book a taxi, try using the app 'inDrive'. Overall a great stay and we are really looking forward to coming back!
