I was in Ecuador on vacation from volunteering in La Paz, Bolivia before returning to Canada.  La Paz was colder than I though and I needed a warm vacation.  Plus, I wanted to see some of South America before I left, so I booked a trip with Ecuador Hop and stayed at Hotel Interamericano in Quito.

I spent one night at this hotel before the start of my trip.  It's in a really good location, right in the heart of a historic centre, next to Santo Domingo church and Calle la Ronda - a pedestrian-only street with loads of bars and restaurants.

My room was small but comfortable.  It had a good sized bathroom with lots of hot water.  My room had a double bed and flat-screen TV.

Breakfast was included and it was filling.  It consisted of tea or coffee, bread with jam and butter, scrambled eggs and fruit.

When I returned to Quito from Guayaquil at the end of my trip, I spent two nights at Hotel Interamericano.  It was walking distance to plaza mayor where I was able to book an Equator hop-on, hop-off bus tour at the tourist centre. 

If you're in Quito, don't stay anywhere else, stay at Hotel Interamericano.

This is good, beds, very good staffing, very small TV and if you see, the night person should have the computer on and know how to use it and pick up any messages and have the option to print any documents.

This is a really interesting hotel...it's like a labyrinth. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is great. The service really is outstanding. It is an old hotel however... Excellent location right in the historic centre.

Fantastic location and great breakfast

The hotel staff are very friendly, friendly and helpful, making you feel at home, the breakfast is very rich and the rooms have hot water, it is very close to the Historic Centre, you can visit the main points on foot.

Excellent treatment.

I loved my stay in Quito, the care was definitely excellent, and everything was handy, really very safe and we were well served, the freshly prepared very rich food, in general the accommodation had all its services and functioning 100%.

I spent 1 night at this hotel before the start of my trip.  It's in a good location in the historic centre next to the church and around the corner is a street filled with bars and restaurants that comes alive at night.  My room was small but comfortable with a good sized bathroom with lots of hot water. There was also a TV in my room .I would definitely stay again.  I missed the free breakfast cause my tour started so early the next morning.  This hotel also has free wifi.

The room they gave us had the bathroom covered. As we arrived very late, we were offered to use another bathroom for showers, waiting for the next day to be resolved. Breakfast was set for 7am, but at that time the restaurant was closed and we had to leave at 7:15. We told the receptionist who asked for the restaurant to be opened and we managed to get a drink and take the hot water and the bread. However, the big drawback was the location of the room that was assigned to us, as it was for the Ronda sector, specifically a restaurant with live orchestra. The music sounds so loud that the windows vibrate. This happens to be a drawback when you have to stand at 6am and you can't sleep at 0:30am and the door is closed.

It's an old hotel with no heating and very old rooms and a breakfast made of milk or coffee, fruit juice, a butter and jam sandwich and an egg.

Central but dated

When I was going from the airport to the hotel outside they wanted to steal the people that were outside the hotel, nobody did anything, I ended up hitting the eye that until today, February 24, I have the contusion in my eye that is better, and I left to rent another hotel.the place is too dangerous to stay and i Pay in other hotel 50 usd per night, I want the refund of my money also I have the ensure but didnt answer the emails, I have used expedia to travel to other countries like Dubai with my girlfriend previously and never i have problems like that

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.  However, none spoke English and that made it very difficult if you did not speak Spanish, The hotel was interesting and even kind of fun in a funky, another era, way but was old and lacked many amenities of newer facilities. The location was very good for exploring the historic district but was sketchy after dark. There were some very good restaurants in the nearby Ronda Alley but again walking there and back after dark made you a little uneasy. The price was outstanding and more than compensated for the drawbacks.  In all, an excellent value but don't expect a place you would wish to never leave.
