Very nice rooms, excellent service and the best sunsets are visible from the pool, a very nice experience.

The hotel is located at an adequate distance from the beach, perfect for resting from the noise of the downtown Montañita, the view that can be seen from the hotel pool, we can exclude a beautiful sunset, the negative side was that we touched a room without a television and improvised beds, in a small room, and with wooden walls that could clearly hear the conversations of the tourists from the next room, and being of wood you could also see the other room through the intersections of the tables, otherwise the hotel was pleasant to the view.

A great view.

A hotel just a few blocks from the mountainous center and the beach has a good atmosphere, allowing you to listen to your own music with their speaker, the amazing pool and the very good staff.

Great experience

A very nice stream of people staying and hotel staff. Normal room with air, the bad thing was that it had no daily cleaning service and towel change. The hotel has a beautiful park with pool, hammocks and restrooms, the wifi worked perfectly. The breakfast was very poor, it was never on schedule and there were no varieties to serve, it was what you were put on the table only.

It's normal to pull a little.

The pool is what the kids enjoy most, the room with air and TV with cable, hot water, comfortable beds and breakfast included. For the second day (Sunday) more people came in than entered the pool without showering, which contaminated the pool. For the third day the pool was very dirty, to the point of not being pleasing to the eye to enter a bathroom. This is solved by telling guests the basic rules for entering the pool. Likewise for those who arrive by their own vehicle, the hotel has a parking lot. To avoid any inconvenience, the reception should consult each guest in the vehicle and register.

It has potential.

The spacious area has good green areas, the only thing beautiful, the hammocks smell bad and dirty, the room with stained walls, and an air control that doesn't work because it's manual, the stained towels, the hair folders, they don't clean when they stay longer than a night or shampoo. The breakfast is good but very little. Totally disappointing it shouldn't be called a hotel. The only good thing is that they get good attention.

It's not what I expected.

I was just in Montañita for a long weekend to surf. I arrived on Friday around lunch time and as soon as I got there they fixed me a Peruvian Ceviche for lunch and it was just as good or better than many ceviches that I've had in Peru. The room had a comfortable bed with A/C, hot water, and a hammock on the porch. The staff were great, the owner also surfs and took me to all of the best local spots to surf. Montañita is a wild party town with a lot of noise so the location was perfect because it was less than a 5 minute walk from town and just far enough away that I didn't hear the noise from the clubs at night. I will definitely be back.

Great place with great food, great staff, and a great location.

Although I know the place is just for spending the night my family and I believe there is a lack of quality in the minimum expected standards:The charged us for being 2 adults and 2 kids, still there are no enough amenities and linen for all of us.TV signal didnot work, if there was a major problem was not advice. Seat toilet broken, room door was unable to be locked, so anyone could get into our room (we were on the first floor)We spend the whole time outside and our few hours in the hotel were miserable.Do not recommend it

Way below average

I came to Montañita in search of adventures in the spectacular natural scenery that rodean and required a cozy place that didn't break with the emerald green harmony that rode. The Sumpa Hotel and its people exceeded my expectations. Really, it's a natural refuge, in the middle of the jungle green, and a special attraction, a few steps from the sea and close to the village but away from the noise and people. The comfort of its rooms, its cleanliness, the personalized service that Alcides, Nayive and his team provide really make you feel at home and not in a hotel. They have a spa with magical hands that will devolve the energy that adventure gave you and will give you a new experience.
