A very clean place, cozy comfortable beds, the owner and his wife very friendly, with a reasonable price, very close to the center of the Tena, we notice a lot of security around the Hostel.

Hostal Limoncocha is a cozy place.

Clean room, great bathroom with hot water, and nice staff. Nice hammocks and chairs to sit outside. They let us leave some luggage while we went to the Amazon for a few days as well. Laundry service was a huge plus.

Recommend for an affordable place to stay in Tena

Me and my friends booked the Limoncocha 3-day amazonas tour through our host at Limoncocha Hostel. It was probably the best experience so far during our trip. Juan is a very passionate guide and a very warm person. He took us out to the cabins in the amazon together with his wife and son. His wife cooked all our delicious meals during these three days. Exploring the river and the jungle with Juan as our guide was amazing. It was so genuine. Would definitely recommend to anyone who want's to go to the amazon!

Limoncocha Amazon tour

This conveniently situated hostel is run by Michael and his beautiful wife Beatriz.  Their sons Roger and Jimmy often help out as well.  I ended up staying here for over three months as I liked it so much.

Clean comfortable rooms, a well equipped shared kitchen, on-site organized jungle tours and an efficient laundry service are only a few of the reasons I will be going back.  And just wait until you see the mountain view from the kitchen on the top floor.  Breathtaking.   It's also a quick walk to the city center where you easily find groceries, restaurants and various stores.

I've stayed in a few places in Tena over the years and haven't found better value than I did at Hostal Limoncocha; the prices are very good.  Friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating ... every day.   This place attracts both Ecuadorian and foreign guests and had a great reputation around the area when I inquired about it.

Michael and his wife are kind, genuine people who look after their guests and put a lot of thought and time into their business.  We quickly all became friends.  Nice work!  

And you know I'll be back soon Michael.  :)

Clean, Comfortable, Secure and a Great Value

The accommodation is very clean and very shiny with the friendly staff. Due to its very good location, you have a very beautiful view of Tena. The rafting tour is highly recommended. Jungle tours are also offered leading to lagoons and small waterfalls. The hotel is highly recommended!

Super location, clean, great price/performance ratio

The hotel was highly recommended to us. Although the address was only to be found by GPS location using Google Maps, it is very easy to find the hotel on site. The facilities are purpose-built, clean. The staff is very friendly. We are happy to come back. The surroundings are rustic, and the place is typical. We are here in the Amazon region.

A very nice environment, good value for money

It was a great place. Nice location, sweet owner and good cooking options. We stayed for 2 nights before going to the jungle. The pillows are a bit hard at I woke up with pain in my neak and back but otherwise it was good. And nice hot showers and a good view. 

Quick stay

Very friendly owner, clean rooms, even with air conditioning in mine! Breakfast (available separately) meets the standard of the country. I was at least so satisfied that I stayed longer than planned.

Friendly, very pleasant and clean

I was just arriving in Tena when I noticed that I had an infection on my foot. As a solo traveler with almost no knowledge of Spanish, this is of course always problematic. Michael, the host, was able to help me more than just: he needed me personally by car on Saturday night to the clinic, translated for me and even waited with me until I was on my way! Everything the doctor ordered about treatment and follow-up treatment explains. Really very helpful and not often found. It is also very important to me that hygiene in the hostel is given great importance. Overall, I highly recommend Daniel!

Kind and very helpful.

I don’t have enough good things to say about this place, or of Michel the proprietor.
The Hostel is a five minute walk to the main road, meaning it’s pretty quiet in comparison.
The rooms are clean, very affordable and cleaned every day.
Every room also has a life-saving fan.
They have an amazing breakfast which you have to try out and a very quick yet super efficient laundry service.

While Michel may initially be construed as a tad taciturn, he knows everything you need to about Ecuador, especially the surrounding towns and activities and he is more than willing to help.

He lent us rubber boots for an expedition deep into the Amazon at no extra charge, kept our back packs for ten days at no extra charge and even drove us to the bus station and assisted us in purchasing tickets, yes, you guessed it, at no extra charge.

We pre-booked our excursions elsewhere before checking into the hostel, otherwise we may very well have used Michel’s adventure company.
