I stayed there for 2 nights and it was a good choice.
I chose a single room, It was clean, well located, quiet and with all facilites I needed, for example a desk, a chair and a fridge. They also have a very nice terrace with plenty of space to have a meeting or just enjoy the sunny afternoon.

Staff was good, english speakers and they know all the directions I needed.
I recommend this place very much.. !

GOOD LOCATION AND PRICE

Close to airport, nice place overall.  Clean and conveniently located.

I was charged 15 and 12 as posted on the Internet, I was given an early departure time without notice the wifi and the TV didn't work and you gave excuses and no solution, the lady who was waiting for me was more interested in looking out the window than helping me.

Psimo is the name of the game.

Comfortable beds, clean and well cared for.It is 5 minutes from the airport (3 dollars by taxi) and is accessible 24 hours a day.Respect the pre-booking and deliver the basic supplies.There is a liquor store, a shop to buy bottled water and a restaurant with dishes for only 3 dollars.

The hostel is a quiet place.It is relatively close to the airport, no more than 1 km.The rooms are shared.The place is clean with air conditioning.The bathroom is very spacious.The price is very cheap.There are no lockers.

Simple and simple

It's in the north of the city, very close to the airport and bus terminal, in addition to shopping malls, and breakfast... It's a shame that if your roommate is noisy (my neighbors were girls playing) you'll hear everything happening in the next room.

It's a quiet and convenient place, comfortable and clean, perfect for a short stay, conveniently located because it's close to the airport, even on foot, and is diagonal to the terminal.

We stayed at The North Star hotel for about 5 days, December 2014, and we left because of several problems.

First, the place is too far away from town, and costs way too much for what you get.

Second, the area is dismal, and lacks anything to do.

Third, the WiFi is extremely sketchy and drops connection numerous times (about once every half hour). This means it needs to be reset, but the lady who works there will try and sell you a story about the WiFi being down all over town because she doesn't want to bother resetting the router/modem herself. We just took to powering it off and back on ourselves. Annoying.

Fourth, (it gets worse), there were numerous mosquitoes, ants and we saw three different cockroaches in the room! The guy gave me some Raid to kill the first cockroach, but said he was too scared to deal with it himself, so I had to kill the roach and dispose of it myself. Disgusting.

Fifth, the hotels rooms are all close together, and because of the comings and goings all night of other guests, it is hard to sleep.

And lastly, we had an issue where we had paid the first night, but because we were so tired on arrival, we stupidly never got a receipt. Now this was our fault, but when we told the owner we had paid, and questioned the issue with her, her attitude stank. She is one of the many untrained people that you can find in the service industry who know nothing about customer service, never mind about basic politeness. She was dismissive and uncaring.

We left because we found a better hotel in the center, which was cheaper. It was silly of the owner of The North Star to treat us with such a bad attitude, because she would have gotten 7 more days/nights out of us. But she did not seem to care, as they were fully booked, apparently, although they did get very confused over their own reservations when we spoke about it.

The pros: the shower was nice and hot and worked OK, although it did get water all over the floor. There are some traveler services nearby you can use, such as a super quick laundry on the corner, and some cheap eateries nearby, but be careful of the dangerous and wide streets surrounding the hotel..

One major issue with this hotel is that they lock the main gate at ALL times. This is the only exit, and the workers have the key upstairs. There is no way out without the key, and so if there is a fire, there could potentially be a disaster here. There are no back door escapes or windows to jump out of, so BEWARE! When I bought this up with the lady who worked there, she just shrugged her shoulders and did not give a damn. You've been warned.

Bad attitude and cockroaches

Exposed wires in the shower, dirt and grime on the floor. If you choose to risk electrocution you will be disgusted by the horrid smell that permeates from the shower. Dont stay in room number one. Great location close to the airport, if you can find a taxi driver that knows where it is. I have paid five times less for a private room in South America that was five times nicer.

the proximity to the airport is what caused us to pick this hotel as well as price. it was dreary but convenient. the staff were friendly. the room was dark, cramped and there cigarette smoke wafted through the wall from somewhere adjacent to us all night long. the hotel served its function for us (get in late, sleep, leave early) but otherwise there is nothing to recommend it.
