Banos

Hostel supercentric in Baños. One feels super comfortable walking around, even at night. The staff were super friendly and attentive to us. I recommend them to people who want to stay in the center of Baños and near the bus station.

Excellent location!

Great location, very easy to walk to basically anywhere in Banos, and it felt pretty safe as a solo female traveler. The owner offered to upgrade my room for a few extra dollars so I got a room with a private bathroom. Great spot to have as a base for exploring Banos. However, in retrospect I should have asked more blankets - the nights are cooler than I expected. The bathroom and room are small, but they make sense for the price.

Good base to explore Banos

Excellent service and a very comfortable space. additionally, cozy, you feel at home, you have the kitchen at your disposal, in case you are preparing the comfort right there. if you want something simple and beautiful at the same time, this is the ideal place. highly recommended!

A lovely stay.

We stayed here for a few nights in a private room and really enjoyed it. It is a very basic hostel, but it is also one of the cheapest in Banos. The rooms and bathrooms were small but clean. There wasn't really much of a common area to meet other travelers, but that was okay for us. 

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and we really loved the location, as it was close to everything, but still on a quiet street.

Decent Hostel, Great Value

Lovely place and Musi was very helpful.  Due to a recent injury I needed a ground floor room and I was accommodated.  Clean, good water pressure in shower(which can be unusual in Ecuador).  I would come here again.

Very helpful

I was three nigths at Timara, in general it was a very good experience, the relation quality/price is really good, there is a kitchen that you can use which is very practical and reduce the costs of your stay since you do not have to eat at restaurants all the time. The atmosphera in general is very tranquil and even tough is very close to everything is very quiet, I had no problem at all sleeping at nigths. It has laundry there at a very affordable price. The Owner Mussi was very helpful in giving directions about the atracttions in Baños.

NICE

We stayed here for 3 nights. In a private room with an en-suite.

Pros:
The family that run it are super nice and really helpful.
It’s super safe.
Great location.
Decent wifi.

Cons:
The room gets quite damp because of the en-suite so there was a fair amount of mould (this isn’t uncommon in South America as far as we’ve seen).

Neutral: Tours
They have a partnership with a lady the organises tours in town, she tried to overcharge us at first, then we negotiated down and she acted like she’d done us a big favour, turns out that everyone else we met after that paid the same as we did for tours. Don’t be scared to shop around!

Nice hostel

I stayed two nights in this small hostel of Baños. There are different types of rooms available. The simple individual room with shared bathroom was what I needed for my stay: it's a small room with a bed, a table and a perchero to hang your clothes on. My room was right next to the shared bathroom, which was always in good condition of cleaning. I didn't use the kitchen or other facilities, because I spent most of the day exploring the surroundings of Baños. At the reception it is possible to hire the services to take a walk or activity. Although Baños is a small town, this hostel is only a couple of streets from the central park, very well located. The price is quite economical compared to other nearby alternatives.

 Simple and economical hospitality.

Rogelio and his family run this hostal, and hands down they are some of the most lovely and helpful people we have met in south america. The beds are comfortable, shower hot with good pressure, and its centrally located yet quiet at night. Its easy to walk to/from the bus terminal and around the town. Rogelio, his wife and family really helped us out when my wife was mauled by a dog whilst at the volcanoe mirador; from meeting us at the hospital, translating during a stressful time, organising last minute transit to Quito airport, and just being standout humans!

Oh, and did i mention the prices are very reasonable for a touristy area.

Amazing family

I stayed here overnight for a couple of hours before catching my bus early in the morning. For $12 you get a nice bed and a bathroom (although the hot water was not working when I was there). Wifi kept breaking down in my room so I had to head to the main pantry to get a connection. I appreciate one of the staff members who tried to help out with the wifi though. Not sure about the breakfast and other services etc because I checked out at 6am. 

The hostel is located slightly down a more deserted street so it’s very quiet but a bit scary to walk at night. Would definitely recommend this place for those having a quick stay in Banos.
