Hotel Lázeňský vrch

We decided to stop by Stare Splavy (lake Machovo) when we found ourselves in the Czech rep visiting friends near Prague.. We were with our 3 boys ages 11, 9 and 3. After lots of visiting we wanted a couple of mellow days on the water somewhere. And this was only about 90 minute drive with much fresher,cooler air than prague. Im from california so to me it reminded me of what i imagine Lake Tahoe was in the 60's.. Or maybe more like Bass Lake now. We found Lazensky Vrch on this site and though the partner sites said it was full we has a Czech speaking friend call and she easily booked a suite that would fit our large family. The hotel is a short walk from the agua park which is set up like the TV show Wipeout with a very large floating obstacle course on the lake. Kids loved it. Do not expect anyone in this town to speak English. Also make sure to have czech krowns cause they dont take Euros. Arrive armed with google translate. The room was very comfortable , airy and light with great mattresses. Slept better than I had in weeks of traveling. Breakfast was just OK with local bread and laughing cow cheese and a box of "apple mint drink" that claimed to be at least 20%juice. My kids likes it. Also they only hasNescafé instant so we went for coffee elsewhere later. But overall this seems like one of the best hotels in the area. When I arrived I was surprised to see so many hotels that weren't mentioned on this site. It also looks like they have lots of homes to rent for vacationers .
