My first visit of this place was in 2017 when I had lunch here with my family. Then I stayed here with my partner for one night in 2019. And now, after four years, I returned again and had lunch with my stepfather in the restaurant.

The restaurant was empty when we arrived. However, just before we left, it started to fill up with other guests. The restaurant (as well as the entire hotel) was decorated in the spirit of the 1st Republic, so there was a lot to look at.

The waitress was very nice and the service was perfect. The food did not disappoint again, it was as good as I remembered it from previous visits. I can highly recommend the excellent borscht, it was simply faultless.

I would love to come back here again.

As good as I remembered

It's beautiful outside. It's a nice area with boxes, statues, fountain, lawn, tennis court and helicopter. But it's all in the utmost desolation! Not taken off the word at all. The room for 4 people is big and once was beautiful. Now it's a web, dust, broken glass, on the balcony a carpet covering and a table in a thick layer of dirt. It's scary and uncomfortable to go into the bathroom. It's awkward to sleep on the second floor. We booked and paid for 2 nights, but after the first night we left, we couldn't cope with the feeling of dullness. Breakfast is good.

It's dirty.

We spent there one night (2 adults and 2 teens 14,17). It was absolutely amazing, like a jump into the 30th years of the 20th century. Staff was very helpful and nice, meal was excellent and room was spacious and very nice decorated. 

Back to the 1st Republic 

Historical ambiance for this well hidden place. Comfortable and very well decorated castle. Ideal for a resting week end this hotel leaves an impression of calm and pleasant feeling of zen moment. It is surrounded by beautiful nature. Take time to read the history of the venue showing one more time how devastating the communist area has been for czech (and eastern europe) historical heritage  The restaurant is good, not at the level of the castle though. 

Historical and quiet

I highly recommend this hotel. The kitchen is excellent, the atmosphere is very friendly, the staff is kind to the children. There are some minor drawbacks (for example, they don't accept cards), but it's not a problem, the ATM is in the nearby town of Chhattaki.

Winter vacation with kids

My partner booked this place for two nights as we were attending a wedding nearby. I had visited this place before but was my first radio or clock in the room which was very nice. There B&B is situated on a sizeable piece of land and features animals such as goats, deer and peacocks. Good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Wonderful B&B/Inn away from it all

I have visited this place a few times, but only for lunch at the restaurant. It was first time, when I stayed here. My partner and I spent two nights at Letohrádek and it was very nice.

I booked quite small room, but with absolutely amazing wooden bathroom. It was so quiet there. The peacocks and goats were running free in the garden, there were fallow deers too. No tv, no radio, you could every evening watch old Czech movies and listen classic songs from the '30s and '40s at background during lunch or dinner.

Our stay included breakfast and we had dinner twice at the hotel restaurant. Food was excellent, service perfect. The ambience of the hotel was very special. It was completely furnished in the First Republic style. You usually do not see anything like this at other hotels. 

There was one thing that somewhat complicates guests' stay - they do not accept credit cards, the stay has to be paid cash.

Great stay

Take your family... leave the phone, iPad and computer. They have good internet, but it would defeat the purpose.

This is a serene place where you can do absolutely nothing and enjoy yourself.  The building and rooms are a time capsule to a bygone era. Everything is pin neat and clean. The service is attentive and professional. Kudos to Roman.

The grounds, which have peacocks running free, are manicured and soothing for the soul. Your children, as did mine (read 8 and 4), will eventually begin to enjoy things not necessarily electronic. Our children were able to roam freely while my wife and I sipped wine in the afternoon. There are animals to pet, leaf boat races to be had, tennis to be played and meals to be enjoyed... all to the musical backdrop of birds singing and gentle classic songs from the '30s and '40s wafting through the air.

Typical good Czech cuisine... hearty and comforting but definitely not haute cuisine.

Its a lovely getaway... even if only for a few days... Go and Enjoy!

Peaceful Paradise...

Right out of the village Pocatky. The building and the park are so tremendously exciting. The restoration work inside is well done even they use oldish equipment of different time.It is not only from 20-30th years of 20th century. It is a mix, but together it works. Only, in my opinion, what is absolutely out of the feeling and ambience is the fairytale exposition. 
Food is good, service is good, but the potential is higher. It need to find the final touch to be that wow hotel. The cutlery they use is the example of the top and where it should go. Not Mr. Travnicek outside on a plastic board. Even the plastic pics of actors  on the entrance.
Anyway the feeling is like you jumped back to the good old times.

The hotel is quite remote, but for guests who have the quiet and special flair of the hotel as a reason to stay, this may not be relevant. Very original furnishing of the lovingly renovated historic building. Restaurant simple, middle-class food, Pilsner original source from the barrel very good. The heating in the room/apartment was fully turned on and could not be turned off at night! According to the information of the staff, this is set up this way and cannot be changed! Even with open windows at about 0 degrees, it is hardly possible to sleep in the overheated room at night.
