We were pleasantly suprised with the quality of food and service . Would highly recommend to fellow travelers.  Great location as well . 
The food was absolutely amazing , service fast and very friendly .

Excellent experience

The hotel is conveniently located at the foot of a mountain, on the top of which is a castle. The hotel is conveniently located - away from the tourist attractions. There are no large crowds of tourists and you can relax in the quiet nature. At the same time it is very convenient and comfortable to get to the town on a forest path in the shade of trees and much easier than on the central street of the city. But the house is located on the 2nd floor. The rooms have a taste that is provided by the hotel of this category. The hotel itself is conveniently located at the side of the street.

The pension has the best advantage and its His position. The rooms are small and modestly furnished but clean. Price is good compare to the rooms in village. The owners are pleasant. There is restaurant....dont take the steak... its not good and the service in restaurant is also not so Nice 


Krásne prostredie 

We were having lunch at this restaurant after a visit to the Castle. It was a good restaurant, with a nice terras, but the staff was unfriendly and even rude. We asked polite for some mayonnaise by our fries, and then the waitress sighed and threw it on the table.
When we wanted to order, we had to wait very long and nobody was friendly. 
The food was very good, but in the Netherlands we are not used to such behaviour from the staff of a restaurant and people will get fired if they act like that!

Nice restaurant but unfriendly staff

Good traditional restaurant a mile outside Karlstejn. Most food ingredients locally sourced. All our food was very good indeed, (puddings very good) but not much atmosphere. Had some local beers. Well recommended 

Good traditional restaurant 

I can just review the restaurant. Great Czech homemade food, fast service, friendly staff. Fried champignons - fresh. Tartar sauce - home made. Chicken breasts with blue cheese - excellent. Waiting time - 5-10 mins. All over, nice surprise in such a tourist location.

Nice restaurant near the castle, simple atmosphere but great cuisine. I spent 40 euros on 4 dinners but you arrive early because at 10pm they were the only customers of the place.

In the woods a nice surprise

Their traditional food is great! Love the goulash and their desserts. They have a great variety and fresh food🖒By the way great beer. So over all a great restaurant you should definitely visit. They also have a great sturdy swing set and I say again you should definitely go visit this restaurant after your long trip to the castle when you're  hungry.

A great restaurant that you can go to after a long adventure to the castle

It's located around Karlstein Castle, right out of SX for a path that crosses the forest for 250 meters, at the end of which you go to DX for 80 meters. This is for those who at the end of the visit wanted to walk 2 steps. It's a rustic restaurant, it's also a retirement, original, where you can also consume, if you want, a unique meat-based dish with a contour of vegetables and potatoes.

Comfortable because close to the castle

We came to Karlstein from Prague to look at the castle and decided to have a snack. A woman met us and, hearing Russian, immediately brought us two menus for six people with a stone face. The food was fine, nothing special, but fine. After the meal we found strange numbers in the account that did not correspond to what was shown in the menu plus a few numbers taken from nowhere. After the question where did these numbers come from the official said that in one position she was wrong, and the other position is service, she returned us COST of the cost of the wrong dish and silently left. We decided not to fight and silently left.
