We ate here for dinner our only night in Jicin. When we came in the open door, I asked the girl working for a table for 2, holding up 2 fingers and saying “hi, two”; she responded back somewhat snarky and held up 2 fingers and motioned anywhere - doesn’t sound bad when I type it out but it was somewhat off putting, she wasn’t polite and didn’t greet us (which is not the norm, we live in Europe...). Anyway, the server made up for it and she was very nice, spoke English, and served us a great meal. My husband had the beef and dumplings and I had the grilled trout. 2 drinks and 2 meals was about €18 equivalent. For anyone with allergies, the menu lists allergens next to each item. Very thoughtful. 

Restaurant 

Wonderful restaurant with delicious Czech cuisine, fast and kind staff, free WiFi, close parking lot and decent and calm air of home business. 
Many time visited, never disappointed.
The restaurant is not in the center of town, but could be reached by foot (10-15min walking from main square).

Decent restaurant at Jicin

Located just outside the town, maybe a kilometer from the center. Our room faced the road so there was traffic noise quite early in the morning and a road lamp opposite the window shed some light all the time. It was a bit chilly and we asked to turn on the heat, they said it will be on in an hour or so but never was. Breakfast was OK, not much variety. We also ate dinner in the restaurant which was typical Czeck. Staff barely speak English.

i stayed in this hotel during a  business trip. It is in a quite area a short walk from the center of Jicin. the room on the 2nd floor was new and very clean with a nice big entrance area and a big bathroom. The small flatscreen television had some german and english programs but was difficult to watch because it is too far from the bed and cannot be moved because the cable is too short. In the bathroom a few things are missing; no rail to hang your towel and no storage board to place your toiletries. Basic breakfast was included in the price of €35 per person and the whole stay was good value for money.
We had dinner at the restaurant of the hotel. I am not a fan of Czech cuisine and this was no exception. My steak was too tough to cut and chew. My collegue who had the fish did no feel too good during the night. So maybe a good idea to stay at this hotel and look for an alternative restaurant in the city center.
