It was one of Varadero's flagship hotels in the 1960s, next to the sea with a beautiful pool that was then filled and disappeared.It spent a few days there in 1998 and still retained some of its lineage.Afterwards was the hecatombe, no survivor of the influx of modern hotels and neglectfully or, rather, forgotten by the government charged with deteriorating it.It no longer exists, and was flown under the pretext of damaging the dam.

I didn't go to Cuba to stay in a fancy hotel, so this one was fine by me. Nothing is stylish or beautiful about this place, but you have white sandy beaches beneath your feet pretty much the moment you step outside.

My room was OK, I didn't really have any problems. Everything worked and was clean. Street view, but ocean view from the corridor/balcony. Refrigerator in corridor. The breakfast seemed like it was meant for a "better" hotel, 'cause it was actually pretty great. No elevator (get that body movin'!).

I recommend Varadero as a last stop in Cuba, you can't go to this country and just sit on the beach the whole time. You can do that somewhere else instead. Too much history, too much to see and experience in other regions/cities, so get out there and stay in casas particulares. Talk to the locals. Get to know Cuba.

Great location and breakfast buffet!

I bought a tour of this hotel through the Tourist. What a surprise it was to me when the bus took us to the demolished building. There are no windows, the balcony rails are removed, the construction garbage inside... Later we were told that this old hotel would be dismantled to preserve the coastline. We were moved to another hotel in the Izlazur network. But we went to the Erradura several times, because it was the best beaches there.

We went there on 10 April 2016. The hotel was closed: televisions, air conditioners, mattresses, etc. Everything was stored in the lobby.

We spent our first night in Cuba in this hotel. Unfortunately, we got a room that wasn't clean at all. On request, we were allowed to change the room. Here at least one of the beds was so clean that we were ready to sleep there.

Not to be recommended.

A cheap hotel on the very shore of the ocean, the road from the room to the beach will take no more than 1 minute, an excellent location in the center of Varadero, near a bank, which is very convenient for Cuba. This is probably the end of the benefits....The overall condition of the hotel is very old, furniture, plumbing and so on are in a rather sad condition.

We still wonder how this hotel can work! I strongly discourage and especially room 512!!! It was really very dirty, the sheets unchanged, insects in the bed!!

It's awful!

It's probably the cheapest hotel in Cuba, but it's the best!!! The first line of the ocean is right in front of the windows. Even a five-star hotel can't compare to the atmosphere that reigns in a hotel.

We stayed for 15 days in one of the hotel's suites overlooking the sea and private terrace, and after having changed rooms for structural needs, we managed to have a comfortable and clean suite, good buffet breakfast, fresh local produce prepared by chef Camillo, who I thank deeply for his attention.

I'm not sure.

When I picked this hotel - I just graduated from college, bought a ticket to Cuba and flew away for a month to get some wildlife. After some agency booked a week for $200. But at the place it was much more expensive (the price saw at the reception). From here, 3 points - young, unpretentious, needed the sea/sun and the beach. But if you work and you don't have a vacation so often, don't spoil it - don't book the Herradura. In the room everything old is so simple - it's very uncomfortable to touch. There's a safe on the key, a small TV next door with a chinese, a sanus.
