The Hotel Domino is one of the few hotels inside the walls of the old city of Dubrovnik. It is tiny, with only two rooms on each floor. It was once the residence of an architect and his family who renovated it in absolutely impeccable style. The rooms are comfortably furnished, with fully modern facilities. While there is no food service, there are several good restaurants a few steps away from the front door. Best of all, the Domino is located in the heart of the walled city, making it easy to enjoy early morning or late evening strolls through this magical place.

A Little Gem Inside the Walls

Words can not express how delighted we were with our decision to stay at Domino Apartments Dubrovnik.   We decided against the usual hotels as we wanted to be within the city wall as we travelled for our first wedding anniversary.   Firstly Michaela who organised our booking is super efficient, incredibly friendly and knowledgable from my first enquirey I knew we were going to have an amazing trip.   Domino arranged for our friendly taxi driver to meet us at the Airport and drive us to Pile Gate where we were met by Michaela and led through the walls to our apartment. She pointed out where the Tourist information office was as well as advising us on picking up the tourist visa which was money worth spent.  The moment you walk through the gate you feel like you have just stepped back in time and I can honestly say it was a jaw dropping moment.   Once at the apartments we were checked in with ease and Michaela had arranged our restaurant reservation at a lovely seafood restaurant next to the Hilton as we were not sure where would be romantic to go.  The rooms were of a high standard and well equiped and as we travelled in December we avoided the tourist trap and felt that we had the old town practically to ourselves hence noise in the room from the streets below was minimal.  

i know that English Tourism accounts for less than 1% which makes for a happy british tourist and i cant believe that Dubrovnik in the winter months is so quiet but it is truly a wonderful place to visit with an interesting history and culture.  I will review the other places i visited but i can recommend Domino 100% - thank you for a wonderful visit

Winter in Dubrovnik

I spent two nights here and would recommend it. It's in a great central location just a few minutes' walk from the Stradun and Pile Gate. My room was comfortable and nicely furnished, very clean, with a small but fully functional bathroom. Good a/c, and though my room lacked any view, it had a well-glazed window and was not noisy at night (despite the popular al fresco steakhouse in the courtyard below). Two things that could use improvement: the towels were rough, small and stiff, and the Wi-Fi didn't really reach my upper-floor room -- I needed to go down to the vestibule to get online. But overall, a very good place to stay in a truly gorgeous city.

Very good option in heart of walled city

We traveled with a group of 6 and rented 2 of the small and 1 of the larger apartments. All were very nicely done. Very comfortable beds, clean and modern bathrooms, central location in the old city, and quiet.  Mihaila, the person who rents the rooms and runs the interior design business downstairs is wonderful. She was extremely helpful, gave great recommendations for sights and places to eat. The cleaning staff kept everything clean and organized. I would definitely return here if back in Dubrovnik.  Very much recommended.

Great location, comfortable, affordable.

We only stayed one night as our other hotel has double booked. In a lovely location in Old Town, very spacious with sufficient facilities for in house meals however it is some-what run down and in some need of repair and tidying up.
