If what you want is to sleep in a moderately clean place, this is a possible place, but nothing more. These cabins offer nothing.

To sleep, and to this day.

It's a very small room, but it's pretty clean, it's essential, and it's very unpretentious, it's just a few steps from the sea and next to the football field, and if it rains and the sea moves, the situation can get pretty scary, but for $30 you can't complain at all.

Our stay was good, only not to good thing was that the owners seemd uninterested in helping us. Breakfast for 5$ was really good.

Miss Miriam

We were supposed to stay at the Miss Miriams on the left of the football field, however, after spending 10 minutes in the room, we fled the hotel. We had a tiny room upstairs with holes in the wall and crazy colorful wall decorations, clearly this place needs thorough renovations. The bathroom was also tiny and very very basic, also quite run-down. No table, chairs or any other furniture except the two beds. The beds had old-looking mosquito nets. View on the ocean but no nice surroundings or terrace to sit on.

We were very lucky to find a room available at the beautiful Casa Marbella (almost the same price!) and the newly opened hotel Sunset Rooms, on the river-facing side.

Trashy, tasteless place

Such a lovely hotel two mins from the centre of Tortugera, right on the beach. And the food was amazing. The beef steak was just fantasies - the sauce was so lovely. The staff were really friendly and helpful. A great place

Great place, amazing food

The scenery is excellent near the sea or football nearby and I like everything from the meals to the accommodation I recommend, there are many animals to the pet that you have etc. It is a very warm place and with spectacular personalities.

We stayed at Miss Miriams for two nights in June 2015. The room was very basic, small and a little run down (e.g. the door to the bathroom would not close). Location is good (close to the beach and the village center and in the evening you can watch the locals play football which is quite fun :-))) ) 

The staff was nice, though seemed to be a little disinterest and lethargic. They basically just hand you the key and walk away. There is no room service during your stay. On the plus side, the food in the restaurant was good and breakfast is included.

Okay, but nothing special

We spent two nights there, nothing extraordinary and a bit expensive for what it is, the couple of owners are quite nice and the terrace offers a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea, random wifi connection, suitable for a foot on the ground in the village of Tortuguero and its park that they are worth a look at!

Actually, we had booked Miss Miriam 2, but since the room was still occupied, we were contacted by the Miss Miriam that belonged to it. We weren't sad about it. Miss Miriam is in Tortuguero right next to the football field, where the village children play from time to time. Behind the football field is the beach immediately. From our room (room 5) on the first floor we had a nice view of the football field and the sea from the porch. Our double bed was very clean, we felt comfortable here fast and stayed close by. Only the food and breakfast in the nearby restaurant I wouldn't recommend, but there are plenty of delicious alternatives in the village.
