Good, friendly service, beautiful views, peaceful area.  However, it is important to note that you must call a day ahead to confirm your booking as the man on duty is not always notified that you are coming...Also, be aware that to get to Ostional and Villas Punta India, you must travel on at least 17 miles of dirt road.  Rough drive if you don't have 4-wheel drive (or a larger car)!

Not what we expected but still a good experience

This hotel should not be allowed to use Hotels.com or any other service like it. I booked this hotel far in advance of our trip and they canceled on us when we got there at 4 PM leaving us nowhere to stay. They had given our room to someone else. (maybe they paid more?) it took forever to find another place to stay. 10PM we finally found a bed, in a town 30 minutes away.

Worst Hotel Ever!

The view from the mountains to a landscape where the sea is appreciated, the green areas very well taken care of! the very warm hosts in their good treatment!, the place has a swimming pool as well 💙 I recommend the place 

Beauty is beautiful.

Reservation mix up but they fixed it. Place not properly cleaned. Wooden walkways to cabins in poor condition. Beautiful setting. Three door locks: one hard to work and one didn’t at all. Very rugged roads from Nosara; had to ford small stream; need 4x4.

The villas are in a secluded area very private lots of peace nature and quiet time and fully equipped with everything you need. Juan the hotel care taker was amazing and very knowledgeable about the area from restaurants and beaches to roads and shortcuts. Overall it was an amazing experience especially San Juanillo beach I would absolutely recommend it and I’m looking forward to my next stay at this place.

Cool villas, all open to the jungle so you have to be ok with that! We slept up on the balcony one night under the best stars I've ever seen! They are nothing fancy but comfortable and great place to relax. 
Great price, close to Ostional beach but a haul to Nosara because of the rough roads!

Great Jungle get away, charming villas for a great price

It is difficult to describe this place - and yes we enjoyed our stay - but it was not what we expected when booking. So if you book it you could either like it or you are disappointed because it is not what you thought it is. 
My best description is think about that once someone built a beautiful complex in the jungle and you are now like coming back in time to this jungle place. If you are already in the area you know that there are only gravel roads 20 km in each direction - it takes you around 10 Min to Playa Ostienal (by the way there is a great restaurant Las Tortugas). the main building has still the set up of the old restaurant: but the restaurant is not in use anymore, but you can sit at the tables - Remember wifi is only up at the main building. The bungalow we had was at the very bottom : that means not only walkways but 4 sets of stairs - some of the boards were broken and the stairs not all uniform: you need to bring a flashlight if you walk after dark.
We did got a key to the bungalow: but we were not able to lock any doors - the doors are so bend from the heat and moisture that physically you are not able to lock. 
Our bungalow had a kitchen with an upstairs room of 2 beds: in the kitchen we had 2 not working mini fridges and a working fridge/freezer (there was another non working fridge behind the bungalow. As well besides the built in 2-burner stove we had 2 separate 2 burner stoves (not sure if they worked - we didn't use them). 
We were told that we can have coffee up at the main building, but didn't want to walk that far up - so we used the coffee machine in the kitchen (if you have your own coffee - next Supermarket is in Playa Ostienal). The kitchen has beautiful large windows opening on the covered porch: there you can sit in the morning and evening listening to jungle noise or see some animals - it is very relaxing and amazing.
From the outside porch you have a walk along the place and enter you bathroom from there: no hot water, the next doors from the outside is the main bedroom. With air conditioner or ceiling fan. There was even a shortcut little door from the main bed room to the bathroom.
The whole place was beautiful done like an old luxury place - and you are stepping back in time to enjoy it for a cheaper price.
As well when we arrived and told him that we have a reservation via Airbnb he was not really aware but told us he has one room, he also asked if we have to pay because he didn't know if we paid.

Remember: it is a great place but you do have to consider it is like stepping back in time and enjoy it.  Yes we had an ant path through our bath room, the windows were not really clean. But you have fresh linen, fresh towels, you can use the shower and you can feel to be in the jungle. If you like this - then you will love this place - if you want super clean, then this is not the place for you.
We enjoyed our stay here and recommend you to do it too and be in the middle of nature.

Stepping back in time into the luxury jungle bungalow

The place is spacious, recommended for couples or families, has everything needed: all the kitchen utensils, the largest refrigerator than other Villas in other places, clean beds and facilities, gardens with maintenance, friendly staff. Three observations to consider: 1 Always inform that the road is made of ballast and is in regular condition. High car 4x4.

Strategic location between beautiful beaches: Calle de lastre per 40km

Moldy and unsafe for children! Rude owner and Very unclean. We were there in the high season and couldn’t stay as too much mold and cockroaches everywhere. No reception on duty and no restaurant. Don’t be fooled by pictures on booking.com! This place is a hoax! I have attached recent pictures of this condemned place, words can’t describe this appalling place.
