Villa Del Sol in Nosara was AMAZING!  Our family of 4 (2 adults, 14 years and 12 years) stayed in their 2 bedroom/2 bath condos.  It was clean, comfortable, with all modern amenities.   With a full kitchen, our family was able to cook meals there vs eating out for every meal. It is just a very short minutes walk to Playa Pelada beach- which is GORGEOUS! We felt completely safe jogging/walking on the beach and playing the waves.    

PERFECT for families!!!

The reviews looked good so I booked. I must have seen a different side. Booked 5 months in advance. Got there and was told I had a "villa" rather than a hotel room and basically "to bad if you are not happy with it". View of other rooms and trees. deck 4 x 4 no furniture/unusable. Room clean in the "center" forget the edges. Shower big, hot water 5 of 8 days. Shuttle is available and takes about 30 to 40 min to get anywhere with at least 2 transfers from villas. Food very mundane and the same. Only 1 restaurant choice. I witnessed food handlers who left the bathrooms without washing hands. Another poured milk in coffee with spout touching coffee (how many other peoples germs/coffee was experienced with that?)My friend and I both got sick (once each) from food. They reuse left overs until its gone. Same choice each meal basically except maybe a sauce difference, ie: chicken thighs and wings, baked, or tomato sauce (canned)or mushroom sauce. Food is very inexpensive cuts, kinda "beef "(not sure here) , pasta rice beans. Fruit plates good. They just are not chefs. Everything is either very bland or you can add blister your mouth hot sauce. Wild Birds in the resturant are beautiful. If you arrive in time you can eat outside. (about 5 two person tables) Management unresponsive/ pass the buck.. Location is hours from most things in Costa Rica, like national parks, cloud forests, turtles , sloths , waterfall etc. Beach is easily accessible. Howler monkeys in trees by beach. Tours from hotel about 1/3rd again as much as anywhere else. Everything isn't negative, its just with all the choices there for the same prices or less, there are better options. I wouldn't return or recommend to friends.

Must have seen a different side

Traveling solo for photography and this was the only mid-range lodging that returned my emails for questions. Email communications re: reservations were prompt and professionally handled.
This was an excellent choice! Pool is cool, clean and welcome after time at the beach; the villas are huge. Number 3 has two big bedrooms, huge living room area with couches, dining table for six, and huge kitchen with everything needed. Bathrooms average in size but there are two of them. Ceiling fans and AC work fine.
The onsite manager/gardener/fix-it guy/receptionist is Hans – he knows the area well and will give you solid recommendations based on personal experience. He’s onsite from about 6am-3pm; a night watchman comes in around 6pm. There is no one else here (perhaps some of the residents) so you’ve got to be a bit self-contained. 
Suggest stopping in a grocery store in Nicoya to stock the fridge with breakfast stuff incl coffee. Eateries that serve breakfast (earlier than Olga’s Bar & Restaurant’s 10am opening) in Playa Pelada seemed hard to find. Lunch? Dinner? lots of choices.
Villa #3 had two big bedrooms each with own bath; gigantic fully-stocked kitchen; best part for me? washer/dryer to deal with my muddy, wet clothes from two days in Monteverde. Bring your own laundry soap (I always do for handwashing in bathroom sinks).
The middle/north end of Playa Pelada is literally 4min walk from the Villas. Out the gate, turn left and you're there. Low tide is best for swimming and exploring the tidal pools. A 10' vertical rise / fall in tides make swimming at high tide a bit more dangerous because of all the rocks. Swim on sand at low tide - very kid friendly. Photographically rich everywhere along the beach. When I was there (Wed-Fri), most visitors were family groups and a few surfers at the south end. Very laid back, no hustles, very safe-feeling. Loved the vibe. Everyone comes out to ooh-ahh at the sunsets. Different "looks" for photos from the north end (by the Villas) than the south end (by Olga's Bar/Restaurant). Will definitely return.
The only negative was the on/off wifi – Hans said it’s getting better every month. The problem is with the national electrical grid. Power fluctuates all day long and that trips the router. It resets itself…eventually. Power went out on my third day for an hour or so in the afternoon – but I opened the front and back doors for some ventilation and did some quality pool time.
Would definitely return if I was traveling with at least one other person to share the cost. $135/night without any breakfast is a high end accommodation for me.

Spacious accommodations just 4 minutes from the beach

Very nice and well equipped, close to the beach and clean pool. It is close to the small town that has all the amenities of commerce. Beautiful beaches nearby by car about 10 minutes, suitable for surfing. Recommended for family travel.

Lindo condominium is located in Lindo.

For the past three years we have spent a month in St. Martin. Since it was devastated by the hurricane we decided to look for another winter getaway. After searching multiple places in Costa Rica with the specific criteria of a walkable beach, a nice pool, few restaurants, and comfortable accommodations, we booked Villa Del Sol. 
      Initially we were in shock after the long dirt road to get here. It is definitely remote. Well, we’ve been here two weeks and we have two weeks to go. It has grown on us and we love it! The condo is great with high end finishes and plenty of room. Our son and daughter in law on coming our last week and they’ll have their own room and bathroom. Restaurants are really good, with three or four conveniently located. Yet since there’s a full kitchen with everything you need, it’s easy to eat in. The beach is amazing! It’s about a five minute walk from the condo and it goes on and on. We’ve walked every day averaging 4 - 6 miles. There’s also a nature trail nearby that we plan on walking tomorrow morning. The pool is beautiful, surrounded by lush plants and flowers. It’s a good size with plenty of shady spots to sit and relax in wonderful rocking or lounge chairs. 
      A real plus is the property manager, Hans. Always available with a wealth of information about the area, he answers any questions and solves any problems. His dry wit and sense of humor will often entertain you. We are thoroughly enjoying getting to know him.
      So we are pretty sure we’ve found our new favorite winter vacation spot and have already inquired about coming back next year. 

Wonderful, Relaxing Vacation

Villa del Sol is a great apartment complex at Playa Pelada. It was very clean and the staff (Francisco) from imagine properties was very helpful. We drove to Playa Guiones every day which took approx. 15 minutes and offered good surf. Would come back, especially considering the price compared to other apartments in the area...

Nice and affordable apartments

We traveled to Nosara and Manuel Antonio with our 2 year old.  We loved the location of villa del sol.  I wanted a family friendly uncut close to the beach and also close to the main beach, guiones.  I was somewhat concerned we weren't going to be close to guiones, staying on playa pelada, but it was actually perfect.  Guiones is an easy walk on the beach from villa del sol, and we were closer to the 2 amazing restaurants (Olga's and La luna) where we watched the sunset every night.  In my opinion, it was way better to stay at villa del sol than guiones.  You will not get the secluded beach access in guiones.  Hans took care of all of our questions and/concerns we had and was always right on site and available.  Great place!

Right on beach!

Super facility just a few hundred meters from the beach with a large pool and comfortable beds. Very luxurious facility for self-service with up to 5 people per residential unit. AC, TV; American kitchen lines with refrigerator and freezer, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine. All picobello maintained and in excellent condition. (No earthquake damage!) The rooms are a bit dark, but also easy to cool.

Rest Pur

If your goal is to relax and have a good time in a wonderful place, you should visit sun villas. The villas are very spacious, with all the amenities you could wish for, truly luxurious. The photos of the site do not do justice to the incredible place it is. The pool is a few steps from the villa, and the beach, a few minutes away. Anywhere you can climb your head and see the monkeys and birds that abound in the area. Also, it is close to the village, which makes it easy to move quickly. And he highlighted the attention and help of Daniel, the local administrator, who is an incredibly kind and helpful person. We definitely think about returning.
