Naomi and her mom are the most caring hosts you could ask for. They made sure that we had a fantastic stay at that all our needs were met. They helped us find local places to get authentic food, book day trips to the national parks, and book fishing trips. The hotel is right on the beach, so it’s super easy to walk out your bedroom door and instantly go swimming, tanning, or surfing. The beach is super clean and not too busy either. The hotel has a nice pool and a shower to rinse off after a dip in the ocean. I could not have imagined a better place to stay in Jaco. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. 

The best, family owned, hotel you could stay at

I’ve stayed at the Catalina for the past 15 years. Every time I visit Costa Rica it’s my first stop. Although we travel throughout the country quite a bit, Catalina has become my oasis, my home away from home, my happy place. I love Jaco for all it offers, and at the Catalina I get the best of both worlds because of it being oceanfront away from the hectic center of town. The gardens are beautiful, and the rooms are large, clean and bright. Whenever I’m feeling stressed, I envision a week at the Catalina. There is a special feeling I get when I stay there. I highly recommend it.

Peaceful Paradise

My daughter and I stayed here and can't wait to return. The room was perfect and clean. Beautiful gardens and loud ocean made for a very peaceful, relaxed setting. Great location. Hidden and private, with extremely accommodating hostesses. Always friendly and helpful. I can't say enough great things about our stay at this beautiful hotel. Highly recommended!

Incredible ocean front hotel!

Hotel Catalina is beautifully located on the beach in Jaco. I visited with friends who frequent Jaco and always stay at this hotel. The owners are super nice, friendly and helpful. The units are clean with kitchen and balcony with amazing gardens all around. There is a nice place to sit outside in the shade with a small pool nearby to cool off. Just cross the road and you are on the beach where you can enjoy the powerful waves, learn to surf and see spectacular sunsets. During the day you see big lizards, beautiful birds and at night you hear the ocean waves. I would definitely visit Catalina hotel again.

Beautiful location

The beach is just a few steps away. Great swimming! Not rocky at all. Our hosts were so nice! There is a great restaurant about 100 meters south that has terrific breakfast burritos and great lunch options. We didn't have dinner there but I'm sure it's good. Altogether terrific for our first trip to Jaco.

Nicest part of Jaco

My husband and I love an active vacation with quiet evenings. Hotel Catalina is our perfect Jaco retreat. Unplug from television and WiFi. There is more to life and the beach is right outside your room. Close enough to town for all there is to offer. A short ride into the mountains. We rented a scooter to get around. The acoustics of the rooms bring the waves crashing to your bedside. We dream of our next visit back. 

Beauty on the Beach

Lovely managed and well maintained hotel, right on the beach, a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Jaco's quiet side, with practical cooking, very helpful and friendly hostess.

Oasis in Jaco to feel good

We stayed for a couple of days. Price according to the type of hotel. Ideal for being on the beach without much walking and away from the center of Jaco. The room needs small improvements, maybe a new kitchen, the existing one has no marks and it is not known if it is on or off, the door locks occupy change. But none of that affects the pleasantness of the place.

Agradable 

We spent one night at the Catalina Hotel, before heading back to San José and taking our plane back. This small hotel is located south of the beach in a quiet place and a little farther from the center of the city. The rooms are clean and spacious, with a kitchen, a refrigerator, and a small private terrace. The small pool is very nice. The owner, Naomi, is very kind and very organized. We arrived later than planned and Naomi was waiting for us to greet us with a smile.

Quiet, facing the beach

A very nice, small, quiet hotel with a beautiful garden and tropical plants. The location is unique because it is right on the beach and south of Jaco Beach, with the most beautiful beach, without stones and.. yet without high-rise hotels, as you can see in the north of the beach. Naomi and Sandra are excellent managers and through their personality provide a relaxing atmosphere, with information at all times available, such as taxi trips, excursions.. etc. Very safe location and very clean, but very simple in the equipment but equipped with everything you need. Rooms with ventilator or air conditioning. There is nothing to be said about it, it was a dream for weeks.
