Martina's Place Hostel

Centrally located and inexpensive accommodation.  The room was functional and clean, although the air circulation was not very well, we had to use the blower the whole night.  Common areas are clean and spacious but a bit overused. The natural experience all around is great, not far from the beach. Value for money is right

Martina’s place is a nice hostel. We had a private room which was very big. The kitchen is clean and has everything you need. Not very much people tho and not really a place to chill, only places to sit at a table. We enjoyed our stay and it is a great way to explorer drake bay from.

We were there for 2 nights. It’s a nice hostel with lovely staff. We booked our trip to Corcovado directly with the owner Vincent and our guide was his wife Gabi. She did s great job. Thanks for that. 
Hostel was clean and we met nice people. Would book it again.

I was staying with my son and cousin. The staff was Amazing, helpful with details about area, tours, transportation. Very nice and big kitchen and dining area. Clean room. I  really recommend this place.

Martina's place is a really great hostel. We went there three times and it was everytime very clean. Also Vincent is friendly and helped us a lot with giving us information about local activities and transportation. There's a nice young atmosphere. We really recommend this place!! :)

The owners took care of everything for me. They booked diving and an overnight Corcovado tour for me before I even paid to stay at martinas. I also left a favorite tshirt after my stay and they washed it for me and got it to a friend so she could get it back to me. They also lent me rubber boots for Corcovado knowing how muddy it would be. They went above and beyond for everything as hosts. The location was perfect to get to the beach and surrounding restaurants.  Pura Vida Vincent and Gabriella!

My sister and I stayed here for a night. The rooms are super clean and have so many fans in the dorm room. The receptionist was super helpful and gave us loads of information. We didnt realise checkout was 9am and the cleaning lady was super friendly and let us finish breakfast and checkout at 10. We got free lockers to store our bags during the day. I am amazed by how clean and chill this hostel is, would defiantly recommend  

I spent ten nights in town and all of it and Martina's Place. I loved it. Other people here seem to not like the insects and other animals around, but you shouldn't forget, that you basically are in the middle of the jungle here. If you don't like insects, don't come to the rainforest! And don't forget, this is a hostel and not a five star holiday resort. 

I was welcomed with great hospitality and over all my time in beforehand and during my time at the place I recieved a lot of help and answers to questions of any kind.
The staff recommended tours and helped me booking them. Yes, they sometimes are pricey, but that is the price of the tour. All the other people I talked to on the tours paid the same price - no matter where they booked it. I don't regret a single tour I made and had awesome experiences! Since he doesn't have his own TripAdvisor page, this is a good time for a shout out to Luis. His night walk for amphibians and reptiles was awesome! This guy has awesome abilities in finding all the animals you ask him for. And he knows so much about them. He also helped me with the settings for my camera to take some good photos of the creatures we encountered.

I expected less for the money. Big rooms, authentic furniture, not too much, but all you need. Fans and mosquito nets were in my room and they made sure it was working/in place. Facilities were big and more luxurious than I know from other hostels. They were cleaned and tidied everyday by the staff.

I agree with other people that more hammocks and in general a more comfortable area to hang out wouldn't hurt. But for the overall impression this is a minor thing to me.

I hope to come back at sometime and will recommend to friends that think about coming to central America. 

We spent 3 Nights at this hostel and really enjoyed our stay. The Host is super friendly and helpful with any questions you mights have. Rooms, kitchen and Bathroom are clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The location is really nice- only around 3min to the beach! Also the two big dogs are a huge plus- they joined us for a 4h walk along the coast and stuck with us all the way. The atmosphere is also very nice, there are always many people sitting together and getting to know eachother. But still it is quiet after around 10pm.

The hostel is very clean. The rooms are cleaned every day and the beds are made every day as well. 
The place is close to the beach, where the boat is landing, but also close to restaurants and supermarkets. 
The kitchen is big enough and has enough equipment for a few people to cook at the same time and has a sink with drinking water for refill. The seating area has a nice view into the small but beautiful garden.
Gabriella and Vincent are running the place. They speak perfect English, are really helpful and answer any questions. They seem to know everyone in Drake Bay and help to organize every tour available here. They are also tour guides for the jungle, the mangrove and snorkel tour - which are highly recommendable!
Next time when I‘m in Drake Bay, I will definitely choose Martina‘s Place again!
