Pros
The hostel did boast a lovely reception team and I did like that they had a playful way of behaving! The on the premises cocktail bar and dance floor was very colourful one would say! The hostel did also present a ping pong table and a lot of people enjoyed this!

Cons
The dorm rooms and showers were not to the standard of other places I had visited in Colombia and it was really loud at night!

Overall
It is what it says on the tin and is a party hostel. If you want to party then it is a good choice

Party hostel and you have to be aware about this element

I do not recommend this place for people that like to go sleeping before 4 am in the morning. The music from the bar is very loud until early in the morning. After that groups of drunk people will come back to their rooms. Said drunk people will scream or sing in the common areas without being interrupted in any way by the hostel staff. Then, at around 7 in the morning, there is noise again. 

In general the hostel staff is not particularly helpfull.

You can‘t get no sleep

Me and my friend have stayed three nights at a room for two, which was in a really good status. The personnel was super friendly and the parties at night are a perfect start for going out. So I recommend going to this place.

Excellent staff, very kind and friendly. Good location near the busy area where there is a lot of entertainment at night. The music is a little loud and ends at 2 a.m. Recommended for those looking to party in Medellin.

I loved the super cool place, good music, good drink, and good people, super cool without words, in a super ubiquitous place in Medellín, good treatment by Gabriela herrada, the hostess of the place, and Isabel Rodríguez, very good promoter.

Genius is a genius.

Rooms are fine, lockers look pretty dodgy and some of the rooms are too small to even fit bags. Staff on reception are lovely. Location is good. Breakfast is fine. However, for a party hostel we were really disappointed. The events were just so misleading and over priced- having to pay a base fee to then get 2x1 drinks, and then only on two choices of drink, is absurd. There was no communication between staff, the promo girls were telling us to get drinks that the bar staff then said weren’t included and tried to charge full price for. Just quite a poor atmosphere from the staff and events- all they wanted was money, not people to have a good time. Just quite disappointing to be honest. One of the guys on reception though (I dont know his name but he has amazing dress sense and an earring) was fantastic.

It’s ok I suppose

Hostel located in the Poblado, in the middle of the festive district(restaurants, bars, nightclubs)... About 1km from the metro to the city center... difficult to sleep in this hostel, soundproofing close to zero! Medium clean bathroom... No headlamp bulb, some unusable sockets because the beds are in front (wood bed, heavy)! unusable trunk, locked!... provide lockers for locker...p right breakfast...

For those who want to party!

A comfortable, clean and safe place.- excellent rooms and bathrooms and a very good breakfast.- if I return to Medellin, I return to Happy Buddha.- located in the area of El Poblado two blocks from Parque Lleras.

This isn't a party hostel or it wasn't when I arrived. The music is so loud but when you go down to the dance floor nobody is there ! The bar is way too expensive, especially if you want to drink spirits. The breakfast was nice and the rooms/bathrooms are nice and clean so that's good.

Average

Walk into The happy buddha to trash tunes that are played on repeat. Yes there is beer pong but the bees are to expensive. It was reasonably priced but you can find many other hostels offering better for the same price and most probably a better environment. Wish we could have smoked on the terrace because what else is it useful for? Medellin is bookey, make sure you are able to find a safe space to smoke. A lot of cops.
