The owner of the restaurant was rude, and he asked me in a derogatory way what he was doing there, as if he was about to commit a crime, and the receptionist didn't look after me the best way, and I withdrew annoyed because even though I wanted to stay another night, I wasn't allowed to do so without any valid reason, and I am a Colombian, a kind person who enjoys traveling, but due to these kinds of situations, I can't recommend this place at all, and I suggest you look for other options, as cheap can be expensive in this case.

Poor service and cleanliness.

If a booking is made in Booking they communicate confirming the booking and the day to arrive at the hostel cancel the same booking for no reason whatsoever without considering what may affect a tourist who is already prepared to arrive at the hostel.

Cancellation of service

Panela Hostel is a cheap place to stay, close to the bars and party life in El Poblado. Its in a perfect localion being halfway between the metro station and El Poblado park.
  They make great cappuccinos and served the coldest cheapest beer in town.
The bar front was made up of old draw fronts and behind it on the wall was a great big airoplane painted.  We would sit in the chairs by the street and people watch while drinking our beers.
 The ceiling had wooden support beams with lots of information notice boards scatered between them. There is a patio, and pictures and poster everywere, also there is an information table with lots of travel and sightseeing panphlets.

TIP: There is a good Italian eatery opposit and a craft brewery one street down

Cheap and Cheerful

Nice hostel and well located, in a quiet street in the Poblado district but with a bar laid out.

We booked a room for two and they gave us a nice one with a double bed and a bunker bed. Their coffee place is really cute, nice decoration and cosy. Big plus : they provide towels for shower for free ! :)

We stayed 15 days for the first 3 days we got into a room that was very clean, the bathroom was disgusting and the fear of using the shower was not working and the TV was not working, the sheets and towels were all old after 3 days we were changed to something better even though the sheets and so forth were more scary than the rent rate from the patio to the kitchen, we had a breakfast that we never had the only thing that was worth the staff who were good people and that we saw the bad treatment they gave them with spoons, also to say that I had a small accident with a cigarette and unfortunately I have a blanket and the savannah I will not deny what happened but warn you of what happened.

There's a lot to say.

Although we didnt stay here, we came here every day for drinks, and conversation! Carolina is an amazing, friendly hostess!
Cold beer, good cappuccinos & relaxing atmosphere!

Amazing staff!

Very attentive and friendly staff in El Poblado, one of the best areas of Medellín. Close to the metro, very well connected and very safe area. No doubt I would repeat.

A good hostel.

It's a hostel where you get all the facilities, very attentive people. Everything is clean and there is a very good environment:).

I loved the place... it has a good atmosphere, spacious rooms and very comfortable. it is very close to the plaza and there are several restaurants, bars, clubs, etc... very well located and I would recommend it to many people.
