I visited Wenzhou on my Great Hop Forward Southern Tour of craft breweries. I chose to stay at the Jinjiang Inn Wenzhou Railway Station because of its price and central location to places in Wenzhou that I intended to check out. I have stayed at Jinjiang Inn hotels in other cities, so was confident that it would provide a level of value acceptable to me. I booked a Single Room A without breakfast for one night via Booking.com which offered the best deal I could find online. Doing so, it was necessary to pay for the room at the hotel in cash upon checking in. This was not ideal, as I prefer to prepay my hotels online to help minimize the amount of cash I have to withdraw from an ATM and carry.

I arrived from Wenling by high-speed train. From the Wenzhou South Railway Station, I took the new metro to the station nearest the hotel for ¥5. Then, the short taxi ride to the hotel cost another ¥11. Checking in was straightforward, without any trouble. I was given a room on the ground floor, around the corner from the lobby. While the window looked out onto the main road in front of the hotel, the room was well insulated from street noise.

The room was spare but clean. It was furnished with a single double bed, side table, built-in desk/side table, clothes rack with cupboard, flat-screen television, and air conditioner.  After getting settled in, I then left for my first appointment. I didn’t return to the hotel until after midnight. After a good night’s rest, I left for Fuzhou the next morning.

While this hotel is next to the old Wenzhou Railway Station, if you are not taking a train to or from this station, it is unlikely this location would make sense for you if your intention was to see the city’s main sights.

Decent Budget Hotel if Location Makes Sense for You

Basic Budget inn with ideal location. Not so new. Room is quite bare. Reasonably clean. Toilet is quite small. Location reasonably good. Although it is next to a busy road, it's not too noisy as imagined.  Not as value for money as its same range competitors, but somehow for some reasons, they did not exist in this city, so we chose this chain.

Clean, Basic, Budget inn with ideal location

I choose this hotel for beeing close from train station.. but you get what you pay for.the hotel is very cheap, and very noisy at night not only with the train but also the street. at 10;30 pm some one slide a biz card with a "friendly girl" on it and a phone number under your door. the front desk service is horrible and no English speaking staff. the breakfast is not western at all. and worst of all they had tremendous hard time to find our reservations made via expedia.com . they wanted to charge us again for the reservation, and wanted to give us a smoking room. at the end we had to pay more for the non smoking room even the room was confirmed in non smoking.. the experience was terrible. and on top of all. the train station where the super fast train arrive, is a new train station in the middle of nowhere  with no roads and taxi service.. just terrible
