Stayed here as part of a Nexus tour. The hotel is modern with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. We were happy with the breakfast selections but disappointed with the dinner choices which were mediocre and overpriced. Service by staff at dinner was lacklustre. The reception staff do not speak English and communicating was not the easiest even with google translate. The hotel grounds are attractive but the location is very far from the city and there are no amenities nearby such as restaurants etc. The hotel would be ok if you were attending a conference or business meeting but perhaps not the best choice if you are visiting Beijing as a tourist.

Four star comfort & amenities but quite a distance from the city

If your travel agency books this hotel please cancel it; unless you’re on a business trip and have a meeting here. 

This hotel makes no sense. There’s a big transformer in the lobby for no reason! 

The potential to be great is there but the staff is incompetent. 
No one in this establishment speaks English, they don’t want to cater to non Chinese tourists. 
The restaurants here seem to always “sell out” of dishes or close the kitchen without warning. 

It is far from everything! Getting a taxi is a mission and Uber (at least mine) did not work while in China. 
Overall this hotel is huge and modern but,  please avoid it if you can and stay somewhere you’re appreciated and closer to civilization. 


4th hotel of 4 in China

This is an ultra modern hotel with very large rooms, located near the new Congress Centre. Very rich and varied lunches with multiple choices.The only problem is this 5-star hotel is located 30 km from the center of Beijing and in the evening there is nothing to do.

Very nice hotel on the outskirts of Beijing

Travelled as part of Nexus group.Staff friendly, clean and tidy. Rooms spacious the only thing is not a great choice in breakfast selection for western people. So far away from anything and had to pick up something for dinner from convenience store. Restaurant is only Chinese and expensive. Has ATM but only certain cards. Mastercard travel card is not acceptable. Make sure you have plenty of cash when going on tours.Would not stay here if you didn't have your own transport. Nexus holidays need to re consider and use accommodation closer to city too isolated.

The hotel is a large one attached to a convention centre. As with other reviews it’s really not close to anything so you need to get cab to places. Cabs btw can be hard to get. They don’t seem to want to stop for us tourists. Maybe try Uber it Didi. Hotel is looking tired and needs a refresh. It is very quiet though which is a plus. Buffet breakfast is never hot more like warm at the very best. restaurant and bar also very disappointing. Bar had a cocktail list but didn’t serve them - Begs the question why have one in the first place. We were on Nexus Tour so suspect it was a hotel  that gave a good rate to them. Rooms are quite big also. 

Was hard work really 

Good rooms with great facilities.  The restaurant was horrible, both for breakfast and dinner.  The food was cold and in no way attractive to eat, the staff tried but had no English nor interested in trying. Security had mobile translation and was the most helpful and friendly person we met.  The hotel is located away from anything - so there was nothing you could do from there.  The gardens of the hotel were lovey.

Good room and facilities but not communication skills with reception

Spacious, clean room and no smoke smell. Good bed. We were part of a tour and some fellow travellers had rooms where previous occupant had smoked even though hotel is "non-smoking".Breakfast is very good and plenty of choice. Useful convenience store within hotel.No problem using English with reception and restaurant.
Downside is at least an hour from city centre by road or longer if rush hour.

Good hotel but a long way from city centre

Everything was perfect here. 

The room was very large, huge comfy clean bed. Big shower. Lots of hot water. Big tv. 
The restaurant was very reasonable and the meals very good. 
The staff very very kind and helpful. 

Wonderful hotel. Excellent place to stay 

Riverside Hotel Beijing is a nice and clean hotel. The hotel has a good size lobby. The guest room is spacious and comfortable. The breakfast has a good variety of both Chinese and western food. It's quite a distance away from the CBD.

Nice and clean hotel

Good things- luxurious, clean, quiet, great breakfast range, very comfortable bed, some friendly staff, room service (go down to the restaurant to order it). Complementary water bottles. 
Bad things - most staff spoke no English (download translator app but it often didn’t work), there were two restaurants but one was always empty and refused to serve us when we wanted vegetarian Chinese food (one night the other restaurant aggressively refused to make Chinese vegies and after finally agreeing only gave us bok choy), too far from central Beijing. Most powerpoints didn’t fit.
