Additional information

All citizens of Chile, regardless of the duration of their stay, and all foreigners who stay in the country for at least 60 consecutive days may have to pay the national sales tax (19%) when checking out. To obtain a tax exemption, foreign citizens must, upon entry, pay for their stay in foreign currency (not in Chilean pesos) and present a valid passport along with the migration card they received upon entering the country. If a person subject to paying the tax and another exempt from the same share a room, the rate may be applied to the entire room.
Staff can arrange for explorations to be in vans fitted with ramps, so everyone can explore with ease. All of the lodge’s communal spaces are wheelchair-friendly and one of the rooms is accessible – just let staff know if you’d like handrails added by the bed and in the bathroom.
Patagonia National Park’s land belongs to the North Face- and Patagonia-alumni Doug and Kristine Tompkins, who donated it to the Chilean government in 2018 to help fund and protect conservation efforts in the region.
