Residence Lalemant College Brebeuf

I came to Montreal on a whim, just looking to experience something new and French so luxury accommodations were not a priority. I was really surprised to learn that local universities rent out their student dorms during the summer. This was perfect! This place offered single and double rooms. I didn’t know about the single room until I got there because booking.com didn’t list it. So I was surprised to learn about the single room and they lowered the cost for me. There is no AC but I came in June so nights were cool and they offered a room fan. Keeping the windows and the fan on worked perfectly. The single room section was quiet and nicer than than the double room they showed me. There is a sink in the room. The showers are small, dim, and outdated but they worked fine and the water pressure was great. Bring your own towel. They do provide a hand towel and washcloth. The staff was friendly and bilingual and worked with me due to having to knock 2 of my reserved days off because of flight cancellation problems without charging me. I simply called each day to keep them informed of what was going on. The area is a nice college town area and only a 7 minute scenic, peaceful walk to the metro station. I never felt unsafe and a couple of nights walked to the dorm around midnight from the metro. There is a cafeteria on site but it is closed on the weekends and holidays so I was unable to take advantage of that. But there are plenty of little eateries around. I will definitely stay again when given a chance.
