My friend and I met halfway between our respective homes for a November weekend getaway. We were so delighted by the welcoming atmosphere, the attentive staff, the lobby bar and patio with fireplace, the beautifully appointed room, and the view of the water. We look forward to returning in the warmer seasons to be able to enjoy the lovely outdoor facilities. We did not know what to expect and were charmed by every aspect of our experience!

Enchanting!

Really nice friendly, safe and fun atmosphere. Enjoyed making (and eating!) smores by the fire whilst making friends with other guests.

We went to the June Motel witt our toddlers, it was really child friendly. Nice fire pit with smore`s. The kids loved everything of it! Rooms were clean, it was really nice to see how the remodeled it, making it new again but still kept the frame of the motel.

Our stay at the June exceeded all expectations! The whole vibe was retro chic, very welcoming the only downfall was that we eventually had to check out. Highly recommend staying at The June. I will certainly be going back.

Perfectly Retro Chic

I was really looking forward to spending my anniversary weekend at the The June Motel, which was featured in Netflix's Motel makeover. Here are 3 reasons why I would rate this property  3 stars. For reference, I paid ~$600 per night x 2 nights, over August long weekend.
1. Room versus cost - at this price point, I expected so much more from the room itself. The vibe of the room is indeed retro with dim lighting, as expected. The bathrooms felt a little dingy, the bed was moderately comfortable and our room had a clear gap between the door and the door frame that could let in bugs and outside air. We reported this to the management there, with no compensation or immediate solution. Highlights from the room would be the cute instagrammable areas with faux plants, neon signage and the cozy hammock outside the back doors.
2 - Atmosphere - the atmosphere at the hotel is sweet and lively. I would say it's very gal pal weekend away friendly. We enjoyed roasting s'mores by the fire pits, listening to live music on Saturday evening as well as lawn games on the property. The pool looks adorable with pink retro floaties and the umbrellas from the show, but it was also freezing to the point of it being too cold to swim. There isn't a hot tub. There's a very cute June Motel newspaper you get in your room upon arrival, which was a nice touch.
3 - Staff responsiveness - Even though we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary, the staff didn't really do anything special for us or acknowledge it. They also weren't particularly helpful when we mentioned the gap between our door and the door frame. We would have liked to have seen a little something, again just given how outrageously priced this was for what ended up being mediocre hotel stay.

This highly overrated Motel charges $300 a night for what??!! The floors of the room were filthy and I don’t think they’ve been mopped in months. My son’s feet were black, that’s how you know how dirty floors are bring a child with you. The noise level of the air conditioner and bathroom vent were atrocious. It’s supposed to be serene and chill but that’s not possible with the ancient equipment. The bathroom had a newly painted / caulked smell that was toxic. For all that money the hotel manager won’t even put a Kleenex box in the room??? Are you kidding me? I had to grab toilet paper to blow my nose. The decor was very cute and the room spacious but everyone knows that. Paint and pink don’t make up for the standards of the room. We travelled with our toddler for our family’s first getaway. Drove two hours and I understand that check in is 4pm but he a little accommodating for a couple travelling with a child. Their attitude toward that was extremely insensitive. I do not recommend this place at all for the amount they charge. 

Maybe for $100 a night it would be worth it.

Highly Overrated

The hotel was very nice and clean, the staff and atmosphere were great! Very friendly for kids as well. Unfortunately the  AC in our room was very noisy and sink was with slow drainage, over wise good hotel to stay.

Cute, trendy boutique motel that gives off California vibes. Staff are lovely and helpful. Welcome drink at check in was appreciated! Met some fun people around the fire in the evening. My only advice would be to switch out the mattresses to pillow tops as they were quite hard and did not provide a relaxing sleep. Housekeeping also needs to clean under beds as we found a few unclean things underneath it…thankfully upon checkout!
