We have a special memory of this stop, because we had the pleasure of meeting wonderful guests. Thanks to them, our two days on Vancouver Island have been a success. And, the room is very quiet, very pleasant, with excellent bedding.

Wonderful!

I really loved the garden room (which turned out to be a whole garden house). It is equipped with everything I needed (and even a lot of things I didn't know, I needed). There are so many lovely details everywhere! In the first room is a small kitchenette, two armchairs and some books. The second one is the sleeping room which also has a TV and a small desk. There is even an bathtub in the bathroom! And the garden is a perfect place to sit outside in relax. Well, the breakfast was no cooked breakfast, but plenty of everything. Even a homemade muffin, which was amazing! And there are tons of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. 
I didn't meet Sandy, but Bev is a really nice and helpful host. He welcomed me warmly and gave me plenty tips about what to do in Nanaimo. 
I'm so sad, that a I only stayed for one night.

Perfect place to relax

Traveling can’t get any better than this! An absolute gem of a place to stay from the start. A warm, wonderful welcome by our lovely hostess, a thorough tour of the guest house and lots of useful information on the whole island and recommendations on places to see. The most wonderful breakfast was already waiting in the fridge. The guest house and the secret garden are such a beautiful oasis! Every little detail in the house is well and lovingly thought of. The pictures on the website don’t do justice, it is all so beautiful. Totally quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you, Bev and Sandy!

What an absolute, peaceful gem!

As soon as we arrived Bev was very welcoming and showed us round a delightful, comfortable and somewhat unusual accommodation. Way better than any corporate style hotel. He also gave us excellent advice on where to eat out in the evening and we went to a great floating pub on Protection Island accessible by a small ferry. My only regret is that we’re only staying for one night as we pass through on the way to Tofino. The bed and room were very comfortable and the breakfast facilities were simple but good. There’s a nice deck and small garden area lovely to sit in and listen to the birds. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Nanaimo although it is quite a way out from the centre, so you will need a car. But then it’s only 10 mins drive from the town centre. 

An Oasis

From the start, Bev and Sandy were fantastic hosts. Everything was explained and the accommodation was fantastic. Nothing had been forgotten. We took our two black labs who were also catered for with blankets to protect the bed and pooh bin outside. A simple breakfast was provided daily which was lovely. It was great staying away from noisy hotels for 3 nights and really was fantastic value for money. Clean, comfortable and cozy. A great place to stay.

A lovely cabin-style retreat in Nanaimo

We have stayed at Bev & Sandy's Place several times before. And keep coming back to enjoy the quietude, and ease of staying there. 
Very affordable, comfortable beds, remarakable outdoor area, which feels like you are in the forest. 
Great place to unwind, unfold, and embrace the peaceful setting. 
Bev and Sandy are very gracious hosts, and we plan on returning anytime we are visitng the Nanaimo area.

Restful, peaceful and serene

We'd received an email that morning to let us know we could arrive at any time as there hadn't been any guests the previous night so we arrived in the middle of the afternoon. Bev and Sandy were great, they showed us the accommodation and then kitted us out with maps, information and brochures which was perfect. We enjoyed being able to sit in nice chairs and read, the sink in the bathroom was beautiful and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was pre-prepared in a bag and we were able to eat what we wanted and drink tea throughout the day. I only wish we had been staying more than one night.

Amazing place

We've spent a night here and we're thrilled. A superb hostess, a cozy and clean room, and then for the price, it's no better. The center of Nanaimo and the ferry terminals can be reached in about 15 minutes.
