Our October 2017 return visit to this wonderful spot was bitter-sweet, as Verna and Warren let us know that they were expecting to close their superb B&B in the near future (not forever, we still hope!) The house and garden have been a labour of love: the labour is significant as they do everything themselves rather than risk compromising their standards. Verna (incidentally one of the nicest people you will ever meet) is so meticulous about housekeeping that she chooses to do all the rooms and laundry personally to ensure perfection. Warren and she maintain an amazing, extensive and varied garden containing a rich variety of lovely ornamental trees, shrubs, and perennials (100’s transplanted by Warren from their former Mainland home). Their own fruits and  vegetables often appear in their creative gourmet breakfasts and smoothies. They jointly planned their lovely home, of which one side is devoted to four distinctive guest rooms. Warren’s professional background in building and design shows: excellent construction, high ceilings, beautiful woodwork, and muted colours, plus numerous thoughtful small conveniences. Individual room furnishings and linens show Verna’s unfailing good taste and attention to detail. And Beachside Garden B&B offers even more than lovely house, beautiful garden, and generous hosts: it is situated in a perfect location - a quiet cove exemplifying all the best aspects of the loveliest stretch of east Vancouver Island. The water is warm, the tides are gentle, otters, herons,and hummingbirds can often be seen, and the unique sculpted sandstone of that region makes the low beach a geologic marvel. All in all, from top-level B&B features like wonderful beds & carefully appointed bathrooms; to an abundance of special delights (gazebos of their own design, ornamental ironwork in the garden; Verna’s collection of beautiful oriental and other art within); to a unique location; to warm, welcoming, interesting hosts, Beachside Gardens has been a delight, leaving us with fond memories.•

Unique, remarkable, unforgettable

Warren and Verna were incredible hosts and had thought of everything including recommendations on where to have dinner and lending us their kayaks to go out with the next day from their beach at the bottom of the garden, even after we should have checked out. It was a very special place to stay. Just stunning. The room was immaculate as was the rest of the property. You could even see humming birds from their garden. The home cooked breakfast was a delight too!

Amazing hosts, sutnning loaction!

I had the wonderful opportunity to spend two nights in September in the beautiful B&B of Verna and Warren. For this exceptionally beautiful location of the house, the stay was far too short. The house with the lovingly designed garden is right by the water, you have a wonderful view and you can even observe lobster and otter. The ideal place to enjoy nature and tranquility. The breakfast is exceptional, lavish and very tasty. The hosts are so warm, hospitable and helpful, many interesting tips for going out into the area and also for traveling further. At the reception a drink was offered and so we sat comfortably together with each other at a glass of wine. I definitely enjoyed it at B&B's Beachside Garden.

A small paradise

Beachside Garden B & B was simply perfect. From our warm welcome, to morning coffee enjoyed down by the water to a perfect decadent breakfast to start the day our stay at Beachside Garden was lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and will be telling all my friends and family!

A Piece of Paradise

Warren and Verna are the hosts you want them to be. Not only do they offer a very clean and comfortable accommodation in the best location, but they are the best guides for excursion tips and restaurant recommendations. They help wherever they can. Breakfast is first class. In our four-week Canada vacation we had another B&B every two or three days. Beachside Garden B&B was by far the best of all.

Best B & B during our four-week Canada vacation

We had a wonderful two nights stay with Verna and Warren. The view from the property is stunning, we enjoyed being able to see seals and sea otters whilst eating out breakfast. The breakfast is incredible - the fluffiest omelette's we've ever had and amazing baked eggs. We would highly recommend this B&B to see the best of Vancouver Island.

Beautiful Location

It's just great! The location, the reception, the view, the surroundings are all wonderful. The reception was warm and comfortable. Unfortunately, the stay was too short to explore the charming surroundings. It was just worth a trip.

Dreamy place for rest-seekers who leave no wishes open.

We had never stayed at a B&B before but recently began our vacation on Vancouver Island by staying at this B&B.  It was the most delightful experience!   The hosts, Verna & Warren made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived,  Our room, which had a private washroom, was spacious, very clean and comfortable.  In the morning they prepared a delicious breakfast and provided us with very helpful and accurate travel information for the areas that we were visiting. We highly recommend this B&B!

Amazing!

A place to relax. The first coffee in the morning at sunrise on the beach, right in front of the house, and enjoy the view and nature. At sunset, a beer on the terrace overlooking water, forests and a beautiful stone garden. The surroundings offer many places to visit such as Ladysmith, Cowichan, Chamainus. There are also good restaurants nearby. As a stopover from Telegraph Cove to Whistler, this B&B was absolutely suitable. The best thing about it is Verna and Warren, the hosts.

A dream for nature lovers, recreation seekers, water sportsmen...

Our room was too small for 3 people, you had to climb over your suitcases to get to the bathroom, the third bed was a very small and short guest cottage. So for three this is not going to fit at all!!! The location is nice by the sea with views and access to the water. The landlords are very friendly and nice. However, half an hour drive to Ladysmith or to restaurants/food. Ladysmith and surroundings are just fine for a very short stop (Old Town Bakery is top, top bakery).
