A friend prepaid a nonrefundable 9 nite stay checked in Jul4 and was asked by host to vacate July 5 , because he had a cough . It wasn't covid related he is elderly and in his 80s .  If they thought it was covid perhaps they should of had antigen tests on site noooooo they threw the gentleman out basically  and now fighting to get a refund of the 8 nites. Tried contacting the host a few times regarding the refund and now refuses to discuss the situation .Totally disgusted!!!!! Stay away from this place

Do Not even consider this Guest House they shouldn't be in business

Extremely rude people who don't know how to talk to guests on holiday. Dark, lights off all the time in the common area, you can not do this, you can not touch this etc. etc. This began even before we entered through the door. One of our worst experience of living anywhere.

Horrible people running a reasonable property

The hosts are so rude. I was tired at the time of arrival, went straight to my room and took a nap. When woke up I wanted to extend my stay for one more night. First they agreed then the woman asked me if I was sick. I honestly answered I have depression. She panicked and said: “oh you have mental problem, we can’t accommodate you.” Then called the man”she has a problem.” He said to wife: “up to you” She yelled:”what do you mean up to you? She is a trouble.” I didn’t want them to fight, so I said never mind. In the morning I told the husband I’m going to write an honest review. He was telling me what good things to write...lol
I said: ok but I will mention our conversation too. He got angry, harassed me and told me that I am impotent and should be hospitalized!! I’m a clean, introvert and peaceful person, left the house with a shaking body, in tears and sobbing. 
This listing should be removed from Hotels.com as it is everything but a place to rest. The sheets were not clean so I used my sheets and pillowcase. Shoes off!!!???? Seriously? 
They told me to lift my luggage and don’t damage the walls and stairs. Curfew at 11. 
The entrance door shuts if you leave the house to take something from your car and should call their phone to open the door!! They treat you like you are renting a room and should follow their own specific rules.

The worst experience ever

Don't imprison yourself. The price is only for 2 person, and any additional people will be charged, which is not on the post. Furthermore, the hag monitors incoming, outgoing, using kitchen, and so on.

Be aware

I booked 2 rooms for myself and my son and his wife for one night during the Labour Day Long Weekend.  I was so relieved and pleased to find the prices so reasonable.  I made the reservation over the phone and received 2 confirmation numbers.  Thinking all was well, the 3 of us met up in Burnaby and watched my other son play football at SFU.  It crossed my mind to check my email and I noticed 2 emails from the Vancouver Austin Guesthouse telling me they REJECTED my reservation for each room.  Astounded, I replied asking what the problem was.  They replied saying "We reserve the right to reject reservations" and did not reply to again.  I had to scramble and pay at least three times the amount for another booking. WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS IS THIS???  WHO DOES THIS TO PEOPLE??  I did not check Trip Advisor before looking into Vancouver Austin Guesthouse.  Had I done so, I definitely would not have booked with them.  These people are a bunch of clowns.

We booked a room and confirmed it and the day we were set to check in at 4pm, got an email at 3:45pm saying our reservation is rejected due to busy season and it was only a 1 night stay. They completely left us stranded and had to sleep in our car.

DO NOT STAY HERE

They refused to host child and they put that in hidden policy that you have to search. it must be clear at the beginning of reservation.
The staff is rude, they was smiling while refusing to enter the house and I slept night with my child in car.
they don't care about kids right or health, they only want the money and they refused to refund my money.

Very rude staff

My boyfriend and I were in town to pick up his friend from the airport from Salmon Arm. We got in around 7pm after driving 5 hours, came in, were shown our room, and confirmed the payment. About 5 minutes they later called us downstairs to say they don't usually let couples stay because of "sex" and so on. I proceeded to say how we we going to a movie in an hour and would be gone by 6am and he would not listen or change his mind. We then grabbed our things and left without them blinking an eye. No where on the advertisement said a maximum number of guests, nor did they try and help us to find other accommodations.
