We had booked for $115 including taxes. When we returned, it was $130 the night the landlord charged us. The walls are cardboard, we feel like we've slept with the other roommates. Street traffic requires clogs to get some sleep. The two-seater bed made us spin like sausages grilling on itself.

We got fooled.

Just for one night when we can't do anything else! Roadside cottage.

More than half

The price is not up to date, the price of $100 plus taxes is really not worth it, take a hotel, and the hostel is on a very busy road, lots of truck noise.

False prices

This place is well maintained, but nothing really typical, highway house with nothing more. The lady who received us had no smile. We were restricted to our rooms only, no common space accessible, no TV, no breakfast. Also, on Trivago the price is $110.00, but the lady punishes us for using this way to book, overcharging us with $10.00 for Trivago's fees, so we paid $130.00, including taxes.

It's a nice place, but...

Firstly, the reception is minimal, unhealthy. We get very little information, no impression of disturbing. After we settled in the room we wanted more information including the wifi code (which was not shown anywhere) but the host was not available, no access to any other information or help. The room is clean but little attention is paid to practical details, for example: no table or headlamp, no room in the bathroom to drop the towels and the restrooms, the only lighting in the room is a small lamp attached to the wall at ground level. No access to the living room at ground level, only a small space at breakfast level.

Ordinary, nothing more

With a little more warmth from the owner and a breakfast this would be a nicer place. The owner didn't seem to really want us there. Its more like an air bnb in her kid's room. The place itself is an adorable red and white cottage with a lovely view— but there's a sign in your room reminding you that the downstairs sitting room (the one with a beautiful view and a piano) is not for guests, only the upstairs sitting room which is small with no view, low ceiling and cramped feeling. There's a lovely patio outdoors but we got the feeling we weren't being encouraged there either—and without a breakfast, we never saw or met the other guests.

The upstairs room has a very low ceiling that we almost banged ourselves on; and no light other than a small lamp on the wall down near the floor. We moved the light from the sitting room into our room to be able to see anything! She doesn't serve breakfast or have a coffee maker or anything in the room. Felt more like an inexpensive room not worth the $110 we were charged. But Baie St Paul was completely full so we took this place about 1k away, so the location was good. And it was very clean. We would have been happy with it for a more reasonable price, given what you get/don't get.
