What can I say... we thought it was a hostel, and no, it was a motel, and we preferred to turn our heels instead of staying for the vault, and the photos are not representative of the current state of the place, and the room we visited smells very unpleasant.

A bad surprise

We were received by Mr. Laurent himself, a very personality, friendly and hospitable, and the meals (dinner and lunch) were delicious and affordable, and the motel room was clean.

Stay from 16 to 17 September 2022

We rented the suite (2 large beds with fireplace, refrigerator, TV, sofa, etc.) We are far from the big hotels, but we feel like home! The floor was not straight, which amused the children for a while:-) Everything was clean and we were near the restaurant of the same name. We were welcomed by the owner himself. He is a very charming man!

Got room 18, very strong cheap disinfectant smell. The water had a strong stale-muddy smell; like a previous reviewer, we  used bottled water for drinking and coffee/tea. The owner is very nice, I think he is trying to sell the business, hence very little maintenance. Pizza is not bad at all, large portions, decent price. The restaurant personnel was so nice, they quickly accommodated both our families.
Long story short, for one night, may be acceptable  like emergency stop. Otherwise, do your homework and search for better places.

Roadside motel, not very clean, very outdated.

The photos were taken at angles to give the impression this is a cute resort off the beaten path, it is in fact a roadside motel with a few cabins located RIGHT at the intersection of the two busiest highways in the region (and the truck traffic starts very early...we are early risers, so it didn't bother us, but anyone wanting to sleep in past 7am will have trouble...).
We also were not impressed with the cleanliness of the unit (despite the ongoing pandemic and heightened awareness). The sheets and towels were clean, but the rest of the unit was not...the dishes, the fridge, the bugs and cobwebs in the windows, etc.

Don't let the website fool you...

There are important improvements that have been made. They're due to new door handles because they didn't fit right. Moisture smell when we arrived, possibly because the shower is dated +++. Water that smells really bad. It was okay for one night but no more. In return, the hostess was nice and the room was clean. But I don't think it's worth the price. Sorry!

Disappointing

House at Laurent's..... rather Motel on the edge of the 138. Don't trust the photos!! I felt like it was a very ordinary motel and they built cottages in the courtyard. We were supposed to have a full kitchen but finally there was only a refrigerator, a small bakery and a microwave. We rented a cottage.... it was no longer a room with everything; the kitchen table, the bed, the noisy fridge and the wood stove condensed. Bathroom without lavabo and without PORTE, white necklace with big shady tasks! My advice, unless you want to eat at the restaurant all night and only to sleep! This is not something else to look for, but a little relaxing commentary on the desolate truth.

Very disappointing.

We stayed two nights in chalet 30. clean chalet, clean queen bed too. Unfortunately I have to say we couldn't use the shower because of a reflux...when we used the kitchen faucet, it refluxed in the bathroom. Not practical at all. The problem was told to the manager but nothing was done. Also there is no sink in the bathroom!!!! Not practical either. There is a fireplace in the chalet but it is forbidden to use it! The owner of the place gave us a 6/49 to apologize!!!! I will not return to this place even though they were very kind to us!

Warm welcome

We stayed one night. warm welcome very clean room, comfortable bed, cafeteria, refrigerator table, two chairs, TV, everything was fine. Except the sink would need to be changed. It's not so noisy even if we're near the road.

clean motel

Very good choice of motel to be in the vicinity of St. Paul's Bay at an affordable price! The king bed was really comfortable! Special mention has been made of the welcoming of the owner Mr. Laurent who is very friendly and hospitable!!! Bravo Mr. Laurent!! We will return there as a couple or as a family!
