We spent two nights in these simple, but very beautiful and purposefully decorated wooden bungalows. Thanks to the outdoor shower, there's a real jungle feel. The location is really perfect right on the beach, we could even leave our flip flops in our pocket and walk around without ever wearing shoes. The breakfast is also fine, simple but good. Of course, we should mention the exquisite Italian cuisine here, we enjoyed wonderful pizzas and pasta a tip. When we left, definitely the nice guys even drove us to the other pier with the boat with really great service.

Simple but beautiful bungalows

We stayed 8 days in a beautiful bungalow, there is everything that is needed, even the new and quiet air conditioner, a fan and the indispensable mosquito factory. A balcony that overlooks the sea and the bathroom below semi-open to the outside. Total relaxation. Silence. Peace. All the facilities in Samloem are very few steps from the sea, such locations at such low prices, in other countries are a utopia. There are no large chains of Resort on this island, all the facilities or bars are run by Cambodians or foreigners many times improvised, which make the experience unique. Now there are very few places left on Earth so large without the presence of the Resort, the fantastic property manager: the Italian and the restaurant, but they are practically never present.

Peace

We ate the last night of our stay in Saracen Bay and we regretted not having seen this restaurant before. Generous dishes, professional service and affordable prices: what more could we ask for? A big thank you to the pizzaiolo who made us a delicious and better pizza than ours (we live near Italy) for only 6 dollars. If you are lucky enough to stay in Saracen Bay: feel free to go there to taste their pizzas!

What a surprise.

Visited Cita restaurant, absolutely not a good recommendation.
First visit, ordered penne carbonara, charged 7,5USD, shame for italian food... 3 pieces of (identified as) bacon in the middle of (maybe) cream, scandalous for this price!
Second visit, pizzas take away, the worst it's that the pizzas seems really good but as they packs it in white box (see pics) it become a kind of ball (mix of everything).
I came back to complain and to try to advise them to do not use this kind of box for take away but honestly, I have the feeling that they don't pay a sh..

Restaurant visit

This was a cute little resort located towards the end of the beach which was nice because it was quieter than lots of the other resorts in the middle. Our little beach bungalow was very cute, the bed was comfortable, and the hammocks outside were our favorite afternoon spot! The food in the restaurant was delicious too!

Great place to stay on the island!

Hello, we were with my husband, our two 17-year-old daughters. Super bungalows with air conditioning but we didn't need them. On the beautiful beach not far from bars and restaurants. Very nice staff the rooms are simple clean and respectful of the environment.

On Saracen Beach there are not many places that serve caffé latte. Cita restaurant served us two quite small cups, that tasted fine.
In the evening we enjoyed dinner at Cita, to have some tasteful pasta in stead of the Cambodian dishes we had for weeks. 
The next morning we came back for another caffé latte, tasted fine again, but this time they charged $3 per cup, $1 more than the day before. Even for an island, $3 is not a fair price for such a small cup.

The kitchen in general (both Italian and Asian) is of good standard for the standard of the island. The Cambodian staff is extremely friendly and available and has worked to satisfy us wherever possible. They have also helped us to remove unwanted guests from the room (and it should be noted that there will always be guests, given the tightness with the jungle and the characteristics of the chapel that makes the kitchen accessible to the small animals (insects and geckos in the room, relying heavily on the bathroom).

accommodation a little too Spartan

So I was staying at ‘The One’ when I was on the island but came here for breakfast nearly every morning.. great eggs / juice / coffee or tea for $6! I also came twice for dinner - definitely the best pizza on the island (no question.) Service was also great, thanks to the Italian lady working here for great conversation and insight into Island life! Would recommend 100%

Beat breakfast and pizza on the island

I liked Cita Resort but some things should be better given the cost.

Positives:
- Good view;
- Rustic;
- Good food;
- Clean.

Negatives / things to consider:
- No wifi at the resort;
- Some rooms don't have a sea-view;
- Frequent visits from giant hornets and foot-long geckos;
- Be careful which ferry you take from the mainland to the island. Not all ferry companies take you to the nearest pier (few minutes walk). Some take you to a pier 30 minutes walk from the resort.
