I stayed in this hostel in October 2o12 for almost 15 days. The staff members were very helpful in all means as it was my first visit to Brazil and time Sao Paulo.
The kitchen was very clean and organizEd and  I had  the chance to cook some middle eastern food for some guests who became later my frinds.
The rooms were well organized and clean. The breakfast was delicious. 
I remember I paid almost 45 reals a night including the breakfast.

A nest for friendship

Love this place. I've stayed there 3-4 times over the years. Great attitude. Good location. Staff is always helpful. Guests are typically calm and quiet. Not a party hostel (at least the times I've been there). I enjoy it a lot. The neighborhood is great for looking at art, eating or catching some great live samba nearby.

Muito Bom!

During our time in São Paulo we were recommended to stay at Vila Madalena. The hostel was easy to find from the airport and during our time there, the taxi drivers generally knew of the hostel.
The location is in a university area - with local restaurants and bars only a small distance away. 

The hostel itself was clean and well kept with a good range of services. 
We stayed in an eight bed dorm which was funky and cool with all the beds being in a central box shape in the middle of the room. 
The bathroom was ok but the shower may have let it down slightly due to confusing time periods and so. 
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful whenever they could be. Most staff also spoke a good level of English. 

The communal areas included a well equipped, spacious kitchen as well as a good eating space. 
We were allowed to invite friends to the hostel, drink alcohol and no time restrictions. 

Great stay! The hostel was extremely pleasing and we had an awesome time :) Thanks guys. 

3 night stay 

Vila Madalena has really nicely designed rooms with small kitchen and mine had an amazing balcony with a view onto the city. Parking garage is very helpful when travelling with the car, especially in Sao Paulo. The hotel is very safe, has a nice small swimming pool and cosy area around it. Location is also very convenient, it is right in the centre of Vila Madalena with close proximity to bars and restaurants. 
The management did not allow me to stay on the hotel premises past the check out time, despite already leaving the room, which was a bit annoying, so plan for this when travelling. You can leave the luggage with the security though. I still kept the review at 5 star because the hotel itself is very nice.

Great apartment hotel in Sao Paulo

Our first impression of the hostel was amazing. Victor, the guy that welcomed us showed us around and made us feel at home. The hostel has a cool vibe with graffiti everywhere. We were really lucky too meet a lot of other nice guests when we first arrived. After a few days we were almost alone at the hostel. This was no problem because all of the staff is very helpful, nice and speaks good English. Victor always made our day better with guitar playing and singing. Vila Madalena was a good location for us that don't know São Paulo. You feel safe and it's a artistic place. I'll come back if I'm going to visit São Paulo again.

Conveniently located, at the exit of the subway station, and bus locomotion, close to the ibirapuera park, walking about 10 blocks.

Cercno is a metro station.

We stayed only 1 day at the hostel, but it is quite nice, the people who served were quite friendly and spoke English well, which greatly facilitates communication.

Buen Hostel is located here.

We stayed 5 days in this hostel and it seemed just what we needed for this number of days.It is in a madalena village where there are many shops and bars to eat.At night the area is a center of attraction for locals and tourists.I would go again.

I landed in Sao Paulo and took a taxi to go to this inn. It is located in a residential area, so it is not at all a hotel for partying. The walls are decorated with beautiful works of art and there is a sign full of messages from previous travelers everywhere. I stayed in a dormitory of 8 beds, it is large, there are individual locker rooms and reading lamps. The toilets are outside but there is no problem for me because there are plenty of them. The kitchen is quite small, which is a shame, and it is equipped. There is no open box or grill!

It's a great artistic hotel. I love it.

Perfect location near metro stations and buses, it's a bit complicated to get to when you don't know the city, but thanks to the information on their website, everything is easier. the service is good, the check in is very informative, but it can be something less, at the end of the day, it's a backpacker!, the beds are good, the wifi worked perfectly everywhere, the breakfast could be improved, just tea, coffee, some papaya and pan with jam and cheese, nothing more.
