Excellent location about 2km to Praia Mole and situated on the lake with a beautiful view.
The staff are friendly and can arrange tours and rental of aquatic equipment.  Only downside for me was a lack of sockets to charge phones etc when the hostel is full.

Excellent location

This hostel is in a great location right opposite the beach and close to many more beaches. This hostel has potential to be amazing however it lacks buzz and atmosphere day and night. It seemed the only people there were the guys working. Saying that all the staff were really nice and helpful. 

Great location 

Whenever I'm thinking of booking a hostel, I try to stay in a central area. Even though Pinguins is not located downtown, it is actually even better: they're located in the best spot of the island: Lagoa da Conceicao. It's near multiple beaches and a relaxing "lagoon shore" with lots of bars and restaurants - not to mention the comfort of the rooms and the great atmosphere they have at the common areas: there's always something going on! Thank you guys for hosting me, I couldn't think of a better place to stay in Floripa!

Looking for a great location and atmosphere? This is the place

It has been an incredible experience so far. The view from the balcony on Lagoa is incredible and it's very close to some beaches (Mole, Joaquina, Barra) and the dunes. You can enjoy sunrise/sunset and go surfing. If you need something the center of Lagoa is close and the staff is always ready to help. They are very outgoing and became good friends now. They are offering an excellent service, have a lot of ideas for places to go to, and as the common area is in a different builiding than the rooms, you can also relax in your room if you wanna calm down a bit.  The rooms are very clean and there's everything you need.
The street is full of bars and restaurants, the bus stop is next to the hostel and there is a supermarket and a bakery around the corner. Every Tuesday, there's also a nice local fruits and vegetable market. This is by far the best place where I've ever lived.
Pinguins hostel is really a community. You will feel very welcome here.

Best place on the island!

I loved to stay at Pinguins. Since I arrived there, the staff was very thoughtful. There are a lot of partnerships in the reception with things to do and they also sell tickets to many parties. The vibe in the bar and day trips was amazing. Very well located in front of the lagoon, nice place to do Stand up paddling. Walking distance to the beaches Mole and Joaquina. I made some surf classes in Mole, was very nice. Really looking forward to come back to Floripa and Pinguins, for sure, is my destination there.

Incredible

We booked a room for 2 persons, the room was OK but the walls were very thin, we heard everything the neighbouring room did / said.The bathroom & toilet was shared and not kept clean.NO Breakfast was offered.Common areas were dirty and poorly kept.It rained nonstop for 2 days and the common area, kitchen got flooded.

Not a good option for couples

On our trip through Brazil, we stayed in all sorts of accommodations from five-star to hostels. A hostel is always there because we love to talk and share experiences with other travelers. So was the penguins. Rafael, who is a boss, was also totally friendly and helpful. Our daughter loved penguins everywhere and also equipped herself with some merchandising items. The hostel is well located right by the lagoon and the bus connections are also good. The only small disadvantage were the not-so-clean bed sheets and pillows.

Nice days at the hostel

Excellent hostel with a view of the lagoon. Very clean hostel and good atmosphere with a great team, very friendly and available. They have a what'sapp group to keep us updated on the nights in cities where in the hostel....great idea.
