There is something surreal in the peace and tranquility that Waterside Cottages & Villas offers to any visitor who might be looking for overnight options in the grater Gaborone area. Located a mere 13 km from the business buzz of the city, this haven by far beats any of the known and established Gaborone hotels or accommodation options.

Attention to detail and a love for what they offer is cornerstone to the Waterside Cottages and Villas stay. The accommodation units are all located a respectful distance from each other and privacy is a beautiful reward for any guests.

Our stay was in the Kingfisher Villa which although does not have direct access to the dam in the font of the property, is set back in a beautiful bush setting with a spacious verandah, built in fireplace to barbecue and has an amazing ensuite plunge pool for private use.

The Villa was spotless, beautifully appointed with all the appliances and facilities required. Air conditioned for hot days was an added bonus. Fresh linen, crisp bath towels, bathroom amenities and a very spacious double rain-shower which opens up with double doors onto the patio and swimming pool area. Kingfisher Villa has possibly the most comfortable bd I have slept in in Botswana - an I have slept in many! 

The Villa is spotless and consideration for the smaller things, like a refreshing air diffuser adds to the ambience of this wonderful space.

The villa is serviced daily, cleaned thoroughly and stocked with wonderful breakfast goodies for the following morning.

Birdlife and bush sounds offer wonderful relaxation to this haven.

Best accommodation option for the Independent traveller in the greater Gaborone area!

Waterside Cottages, Gaborone. 
We stayed at the Hornbill Cottage. 
Such elegance, so tastefully decorated. The check in is contact free, so you are not held up, waiting to be allotted your rooms. 
Three bedrooms with an extra bed in the lounge. The rooms are air conditioned, making it so comfortable to stay in. A nice pool, a boma and a braii stand as well. 
Our stay was enjoyable, the wonderful silence and tranquility. So good.

Waterside Cottages, Gaborone.

This is a truly special place…it is just outside Gaborone…but it feels like you are far away. Peaceful and quiet…ducks and chickens come visiting…each chalet has a picnic spot…we had to drive to ours…when we stayed in March there was no water but when we returned in April there was water ..so sitting at the picnic spot with a glass of wine was most enjoyable!!

Tranquility close to Gaborone

Absolutely lovely private getaway from town. Tastefully decorated. Choose the chalets with a view on the dam; the view is stunning. Thoughtful breakfast (included) in the fridge every morning. Only a 15 min to a big shopping mall where you can stock up before heading out on adventures. Would come back to stay.

Lovely and peaceful

there are several chalets but you have the impression to be alone. Clean, quiet, good equipments inside and outside, located at 10 minutes of Gaborone by car, safety. Well equiped kitchen, grill outside : Top !

Exactly as the owner has advertised.  Value for money. Privacy and security top notched.  Room perfectly cleaned. Modern amenities in a remote waterfront serene atmosphere.  Will surely come back again . Will encourage others to go there too. 

Excellent Waterfront in a remote area 

We spent 2 nights in the Babbler cottage. Beautiful place. Very comfortable and well appointed with everything you would need to stay there. The surrounding bush and bird life was awesome. The staff were very friendly.  Will definitely be back again soon. 

Superb Bush Stay

We booked in here for 2 nights to have a break from the corona stress.... midnight of our 1st night city went into lock down again. Cilla happily gave us a refund for the night we didn't get to use.

Now for the review.... great location. Great shower. Fresh fruit, yogurt and bread left for breakfast. All the utilities you need. Charcoal and firelighters are included. 

We were there when a cold front hit..... we were not cold at all. The duvet was toasty and  the electric blanket made sure the bed was warm before getting in.

We really can wait to got back for a full weekend!

Lock down cut short

What an amazing place. From the first contact, to payment and the actual cottage is first class. I could live here!
Attention to detail and extras is exemplary. To add, a superb setting. I will recommend this property.

Riverside Cottages

I can’t fault this place 
Everything about it was amazing, from the simple directions sent, the check ins, excellent WiFi, the ambience, hot shower. You can actually forget it’s so close to the city because of the nature vibe it has. Continental breakfast very thoughtful and healthy :-)Highly recommend
