Chalet booked for 4 people . We arrived at what looked like a deserted old holiday camp  with boarded up buildings and a main reception building with its roof caved in! Empty swimming pool full of deck chairs and mud. Their description of 'restaurant and bar overlooking patio' is not only fanciful but downright lies as its just derelict buildings. Anyway to be fair the renovated 3 bedroomed chalet we got was excellent and well furnished, the view over Malmedy only slightly obscured by grass and weeds 2' high, but the  owners are flouting the rules of accurate description whilst charging top dollar ( or euro ) for everything. 

Very misleading property information!

Our workers stayed her for 4 days at the end of April .  The vacation parc is average, but the surprise you get at the end .  Despite the fact that we cleaned ourselves every day, we got a mail from them that we left it dirty and was a shame !  They charged us 317 kw of electricity, what is completely imposible but was credit from our card .   So before booking think about it that they will charge you more than  30 € a day for electricity.  Make pictures on your arrival and before you leave

Accommodation to avoid !

Stayed here with a group of aging lads going to the Spa Classic weekend (myself not included in the aged bracket). On arrival it was looking like a little bit of a ghost town. The receptionist was only really there for our arrival and the initial thoughts were OMG what have we done! We went down to our chalet and to be fair the accommodation was pretty good, clean and fairly modern equipment and facilities within. There was a kitchen/dining area with a main lounge seating area leading to the patio area (just wished someone had emptoed the fag butt disposal point:-( ). There was a twin room downstairs then after following the steepish stairs up were two further twins. One had a large velux window offering great views down the valley.  
The site itself was clearly starting to gear up for the season as the grass hadnt been cut on the friday but by saturday they had started to make a dent in the site. Most of all the swimmimg pool was empty: no fun im the sum :-(. The park environment reminded me a little like center parcs with small groups of cabins set on the side of a wooded valley.   The views down into the valley were very pleasant and great to wake up to in the morning. I thought it was like the sound of music but on a smaller scale :-)
Its well situated for Malmedy which is no more than a few minutes drive away. This was our base for eating and drinking with some good bars and great restaurants all within the main square. 
My only one warning would be that some of the chalets are looking tired and in need of renovation but it maybe a case that these are not let out. If they are you maybe unlucky!!
 All in all a good base and would go again if we could guarantee the same level/condition of chalet. 

Center Parcs Belgian Style ?

Domaine de chodes is a lovely vacation park. We stayed there for a long weekend and LOVED the nice kitchen, comfortable beds, and cosy fireplace. 

However, read the fine print (which took the attendant 10 minutes to locate on booking.com). They charged extra for sheets (12.50/person), cleaning the apartment (51euro), and a Waarborg (deposit) of 150 euro which we were assured we would get back. Now, over three weeks later, there is no refund. I have contacted them by phone many times and written several emails...even translated them to french and I have received NO RESPONSE from them AT ALL! I am reporting them to the authorities next week.
