A very beautiful place in the Ardennes, with very beautiful old houses, resting, relaxing, fueling, sleeping, slumbering like God in France.

Rest Pur

Just super good! Top ambience, very nice rooms (rooms) Very warm and friendly reception. Very good and abundant food at a top price. All in all a round thing. You can only recommend further.

We spend one night in the "Leffe" room in this nice and beautiful bed & breakfast. The hosts are very welcoming and offer a drink upon your arrival. Dinner is also served at a rate of 40 euros per person. This three course dinner is very enjoyable as local specialities are served, together with a selection of fine wines! Breakfast was perfect with fresh cooked eggs and a large selection of bread and cheese. This is the place if you want a quiet B&B in a high class atmosphere, we can highly recommend "Les Trois Chenes" and we will definitely go back...

Full quality B&B experience

If you are not fluent in Dutch, when booking your room, check to see if some of the other guests speak your language. We were left with only French speakers with eight Dutch speakers at the same table. I would like to say that these hosts and the owners were friendly but it can be painful to have a conversation for several hours. After reflection the owner got us into a bit of a trap because we had a good Vivabox where our address was filled out and he also knew a few other people from where they came from, we would have liked to have been warned. For the room it is advisable not to go over 1.80m. Otherwise you will encounter difficulties in the bathroom and the attic.

Some Precautions

Les Trois Chenes was a cozy and lovely B&B in Southern Belgium, in the Ardennes area. 1.5hrs drive from Luxembourg, this was a perfect stop for us driving from Germany through Belgium. It is a sweet little cottage next to a gurgling brook, and the scent of a fireplace in the air created a charming atmosphere for us. 

The hosts, Ingrid and Eddy were very friendly greeting us with a welcome drink from a variety of local beers/aperitifs. We had dinner at the B&B, which was beautifully presented, included seasonal ingredients, local wild boar paté, grilled pheasant, paired with excellent wine. The menu was delicious and very filling. We had a lovely time with the other lodgers at dinner as well. 

Our rooms were the attached to the main house. There was a separate lodge in the garden where the other lodgers stayed. Our rooms were very clean and cozy. Bathrooms were immaculate, with heated floors (great for winter!), dressing gowns and slippers. 
The rooms were not with the stone walls, which I was initially attracted to on the booking site I had used, but I didn't mind. The only thing I wished could be resolved would be the plumbing for the toilets, as I heard some clicking and clacking coming from it during the night, (when a toilet was flushed on the floor below or the room next door?). Other than that, plumbing functions brilliantly – just a bit noisy when someone else, somewhere else flushes.  

Overall great experience and very pleasant. Ingrid speaks English, so that was very helpful for us who didn't speak French, nor Flemish. Eddy and Ingrid are very knowledgeable on nearby sights and activities. The drive from the B&B through Roquefort is beautiful, with old streets and stone buildings/farm houses. 

I would return to Les Trois Chenes and hopefully spend more nights here next time.

Charming hosts and B&B

Eddy and Ingrid welcomed us for two nights, and our guests were friendly, attentive and welcoming, eager to make our stay enjoyable, and the meal was delicious, and the place was a crossroads of beautiful walks, on the edge of the leash.

Nice place, two friendly hosts

Beautiful house, beautiful garden... but room attached to the garage, unpleasant feeling of being outside the house, in the basement and where a room has no place... too cold and feeling of humidity... I'm sure the other rooms in the house are lovely but for us it was a nightmare... little detail, lots of hunting trophies all over the house..

Not that charming.

Beautiful guest house in a very quiet little village. Stone house on a beautiful riverfront plot. Ideal for relaxing. The rooms are impeccable and the reception is perfect. We were offered dinner, don't miss it but book it at least the day before. Ingrid and Eddy's kitchen was succulent and particularly copious. Breakfast is also very well served. Correct price/quality ratio given the extra service, you are in the top tier.
