Holiday Inn Express Antwerp City Centre, an IHG Hotel

What was good

An excellent, new top hotel. Holiday Inn Express Antwerp City Centre is a large (102 rooms), ideally situated hotel which opened its doors in 2023. Although there was some misunderstanding with regard to the kind of room we booked ( a standard double room, which was not available) the problem was solved by giving us a room for disabled people (308). Staff is very kind and always willing to help you (special thanks to Khalid). Our room is very large with an excellent double bed and a good working airco. The large bathroom has an excellent shower. Although this is a new hotel it has the same problem as more than 90% of the hotels we visited, namely placing the toilet roll holder on the left behind you. The toilet roll easily falls to the floor. This is especially inconvenient if you want to use toilet paper at night without turning on the light. Why not on the left in front of you? Breakfast (warm and cold buffet) was of a high standard, abundant and included in the price. The knives are very blunt which is the case in almost all hotels, but which we did not expect in a new one. Nevertheless, this is a great hotel at a reasonable price (we booked through Zenhotels and paid €314,00 for 3 nights including breakfast). Highly recommended
