Such a wonderful place to visit!! The staff is awesome and the grounds are beautiful!
Our daughter's celebrated her 7th birthday at the marina and they made every moment so special! We have stayed at the marina 2 times this summer and have no complaints!

Love the place!

Based on pictures, price  and website description we thought we were staying at a nice resort.  Upon arrival it is a cute setup and has great potential.  I would not go back again.  The facilities are run down and dirty. The bathrooms had cracked tiles, stains and needed to be redone.  Carpenter ants came through the cracks and there was no maintenance person .  The cleaning lady and I stuffed toilet paper in the cracks after she killed dozens of ants with bleach.  They caulked the shower as a temporary fix.  The air conditioner made a dripping sound 24/7.  The pool was dirty and cloudy. Never saw anyone skim it or check the water.  There were lots of employees around but none working. There was grass and weeds growing up between the concrete tiles around the pool. The pool bar was expensive and if you ordered food it was over cooked and took minimum an hour even for a salad . And usually you had to order 2 or 3 things again because they would bring order and only have part of it.  

The kayaks and paddle boards were nice to have to use but the boards and paddles were cracked and broken some taped together with electrical tape.  

I could go on about this resort like the pool towels were stained and a hodge podge of towels left from guests and some newer towels.  It is obviously the only place to stay and no competition .  We won’t be back.  We spent what we could have spend at an all inclusive Hard Rock hotel in Cancun but stayed at a hotel that was not even as nice as a red roof inn.  
The marina was nice if you are staying in your boat and bring all the food you need then you will be good.

Nice staff but the resort is run down

It was my second visit to Old Bahama Bay. It is a beautiful place with great service. Malik, Sue and Becky at the Tiki Hut Bar, pool and ocean side are great. Restaurant is doesn’t have a a bad meal on the menu. The fish is fresh and delicious. Find Taushas Conch shack over near customs. She will give twice the amount of the other shack for the same price. Grab a Sands from Questa at bar shack next to Tausha. Rooms are all well positioned for great view. Pool is very spacious.

West End Grand Bahama

Restaurant wait staff was very good as was the food but the check in and fuel staff on the dock were surly and useless.  Check in took 20 minutes and the fuel guy said too bad the fuel dock closed 3 minutes ago. I think he was angling for a tip because I was told the fuel dock was open until 7PM when I reserved a slip. Be careful!!

Mixed experience

Booked a 5 night stay for May 2024. The location is in desperate need of TLC.  The rooms were rough, the pool and lounge area was filthy, with no umbrellas, or shaded areas.  My husband actually skimmed the pool one morning … no workers in site.  The pool hut with towels didn’t open until 11:00.  The beach had broken lounge chairs and hammocks. 
 
The food was the best part of the trip… we enjoyed most meals and most of the staff (not all) at the restaurants were working very hard to meet the demands of the clientele.  We ended the trip early to visit another island and resort and were so happy with the decision.  

It may be an adequate location for boats /fishermen staying a night, but would discourage anyone from looking at this location for their vacation.

Not a vacation destination

First of all this review is not of the marina. We did not come by boat. The resort itself is very rundown. Pool is cloudy, weeds growing on the deck, and no umbrellas. Beach is littered with broken grills,  hammocks and chairs.  The beach   is full of seagrass, so not as stunning as many other Bahama beaches.  The resort is remote so no other places to eat, but the restaurant on site is often too crowded to get any food service. Ronnie the van driver was the highlight of our trip.  He went out of his way to take us into Freeport, however it was a ghost town with very little open. The staff was friendly and did their best to accommodate, but they were definitely understaffed. We  were so disappointed we left early and went to another Bahama island and resort which was  much  nicer.

If not staying in the marina, don’t stay here.

The resort is very clean and they are very accommodating!!! A special recognition of Bridgette!!!!  We had my daughters wedding here and Bridgette could not have been more accommodating, kind and supportive!  We could not have pulled it all together without her kindness, patience and knowledge! The food is exceptional and we had a fantastic wedding and family vacation!  THANK YOU BRIDGETTE!!!!

Exceptional Customer Service!

We stay at Old Bahama Bay a few times per year as we journey across from Fla and enjoy the close proximity and generally very good fishing. The entire staff from the harbor to the reception to the restaurant are ALWAYS courteous and friendly. A location where anglers can enjoy great fishing , nice hotel and a good cold beer and meal after a long day on the water.  The rooms are very nice and well appointed with nice proximity to the harbour and restaurant. The issue I have with the hotel is that most of the anglers that arrive sometimes after 5pm. Unfortunately, the front desk is closed and you must walk to a guard house which is a long walk to get your keys and then search for your hotel room.  The walkways are not lit so it is difficult to navigate. Once you get to your room for a nice shower it is then off to the restaurant where it is very crowded and the staff is just trying to keep up.  Again, all friendly faces and they are working hard to satisfy each guest. This review not directed to put any negative comments on the facility or the  the fine workers at Old Bahama Bay but to the ownership to help with making a stay easier and more enjoyable. No doubt we will be back at OBB in the near future but wanted to leave these comments for hopefully getting some relief for future anglers and the staff at OBB.

Operational Change

The view was to die for.  Our room overlooked the sea, and the waves and wind added to the experience.   We left our balcony doors open at night and the serene sound of the wind and the coolness of the breeze made for a peaceful sleep.  Although the doors were opened, we felt quit safe.
