We stayed for two nights on our way from Vienna to Salzburg. 
The hotel is very easy to find once you get off from the bus from Bad Ischl.
We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival. 
The view at the balcony in the room was just breathtakingly beautiful. Plus, because it is not exactly in the city centre (the hotel is at the entrance of the town, but still very easy walking distance to the city centre), it is quiet and quaint. 
The owner of the hotel was friendly and warm and recommended where to go and where to eat, which was very helpful to us. We truly enjoyed our stay and were very glad that we stayed for two nights. 

Great stay in St.Wolfgang!!

I am quite hesitate to write a comment here. It's not because of the quality but when I searched this hotel on-line now, it shows that the hotel does not open for booking anymore.

First of all, the hotel name here in Trip advisor is not 100% correct. The hotel name is "Pension" Linortner. So when you searched the whole name, it will not show in Trip advisor here.

I stayed at this Pension towards end of April 2016. It is a slack season for St Wolfgang. Many restaurants and some hotels have yet to open. But it is a good time where you can enjoy the serene and quietness of this little town and I was the only guest staying at the pension on that day.

Room is huge with full lake view, sitting area and a small balcony. My room is on the floor one level lower than the reception, but as it was built on the hill, it is actually about 3 floors up the other side of the pension.

Room is extremely clean and tidy. Bathroom and toilet are separated. Shower area is big enough. Hotel-class towels are provided. 

Breakfast is simple but adequate with cold cuts, cheese, bread and jam, and coffee and tea.

Although St Wolfgang is very small, this pension is NOT is the center of the town. It is at the beginning of the road leading to the town and is before the tunnel that leads to the center of the town. So if you come from Salzburg by Bus no 150, you should alight at the stop called St Wolfgang Im Salzk Au. You should then walk towards the same direction as the bus runs and the pension is about 30 meters away on your left (you need to cross the road). Adjacent to it is a big hotel called Peter Hotel. The next bus stop (called St Wolfgang Im Salzk Market) will have more people to get off as it is the center but it is a long way to walk from there to the pension with luggage.  

You should also note that there is No Wi-Fi and no lift and they do not accept credit cards.

Overall I enjoyed my stayed here very much. It exceed all of my expectations!! I do hope that people, especially those who came to Hallstatt will visit this little town as well as St Wolfgang also offer an amazing lake view but with half the price of Hallstatt!!

By the lake with wonderful view!!

We stay here for 4 nights. The best is view on the lake and even the pension is oposite main road you do not hear anything-so it is nice quite place. I would recommend to owner to offer little better choice on breakfast. At least eggs and also water would be nice. We like it here.

Really nice stay

Managed to get two rooms at my second visit to this B&B and both rooms were comfortable, clean and had wonderful views of the lake. Good location at the start of the town with the added bonus of a small car park although very tight and not easy to manoeuvre if it is full.
Breakfast was adequate but not extensive and served in a small room with a nice décor. A swimming/sun bathing platform down at the lake front is an added feature. May not be suitable for those with mobility issues though as there is no elevator and a bit of a climb up the hill from the town centre and foreshore. 
Overall though a good place to stay and reasonably good value for St Wolfgang.

Second Visit

Excellent position with an easy five minute walk into town. The views from the rooms are breathtaking. Every room has a balcony. Our room was spotless and a nice size. The hosts were very friendly. Some guests had been to the Linortner seven times. St Wolfgang is a delightful place to stay with lots of things going on, lots of places to eat out and yet peaceful.
