Everything worked out when we arrived late. The keys were in place and the room was ready. A small boarding house on the outskirts of the village of Mondsee. The staff were very familiar. The breakfast was very extensive and you could order eggs of all kinds. The room was relatively large and very clean. There was nothing missing. Price/performance I thought was excellent. I would book this boarding house again.

It's a quiet, hospitable boarding house.

Nice gasthaus not 15 minutes walk from sea. Very clean, well equipped rooms. Self-service bar.
Good breakfast after standard Austrian style, and high level of service and kindness from the personell.
Reception not open on late evening, but at my late arrival we agreed to pick-up the key in a key safe. Very professional and ok.  Recommended and good value for money!!

Nice, typical Austrian Gasthaus

We stayed at the Pension Herned on our way to Vienna and it was a very pleasant experience. A family run business that takes pride in everything it does. The room was very spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the front of the house and the mountains in the back. Nice and comfortable beds with high quality linen and a very generous breakfast. There is also fridge with very reasonably priced drinks that operates on an honour system. Very welcoming when the temperatures soar to above 30. 
The town centre is walking distance (10 minutes) and surprised us with the variety of Restaurants and very inviting lake promenade. All Restaurants have outside seating and the very nice and elegant Schlosshotel offers an internal courtyard. The Mondsee Cathedral is also worth a visit. We learned that it starred as the wedding church in "The sound of Music".

A lovely find on our way to Vienna

We stayed for one night in this boarding house, it was the day before Easter and we were out of season, it was just us in the hotel plus another person. Anyway, the owner was very polite and made us a great breakfast, she also cooked us eggs at the time, which not everyone does even with the full rooms. The room is a classic room with a double bed and two extra beds for children. I have to say like in the average so I'll review this 3-star boarding house even though for breakfast and kindness it would be worth half a point extra.

Good accommodation for the night!

We only stayed here one night but found it a most comfortable and welcoming place. The owners are charming and our room was large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is served in a large, comforting dining room and the breakfast buffet was top class.

We would certainly have no hesitation staying here again and I highly recommend it.

A very good B&B

Very clean with exceptionally friendly staff.
Generous and tasty breakfast.
10 minute walk to centre of town which was rather nice on a summer's evening - the town, lake and surroundings are absolutely beautiful.
My only problem was that our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking their extensive land on which they keep a number of animals including hens and cockerels (which started crowing at about 5am), and huge koi carp which were surprisingly noisy when splashing around in their pool.

Clean, friendly and reasonable

Beautiful place to stay. Nice rooms, friendly price, nice service and rich fresh breakfast (Swedish tables). The only drawback is very poor Wi-Fi. The next time I come back to this area, I won't be thinking about another accommodation for long. I recommend this guesthouse to everyone! ;)

Lovely experience

My partner finally wanted to go straight to Moon Lake one day and not always cross the highway by it. So we went to the Herned Pension on the Internet. We only stayed one night and were very happy about the clean and well-equipped rooms. The breakfast buffet was excellent and sufficient. Price performance has gone up and although we were only there for one night we were treated very kindly. To the lake it is a little too far and impossible without a car.

One night.

We found a perfect shelter in the boarding house to spend our short vacation there. The premises, the room, everything around it was just nice... the breakfast was absolutely delicious... the hosts were very, very nice.
