Hotel Bergdiamant Garni

First time in Flachau for us, we had a great time & really enjoyed ourselves. The hotel was a particular highlight. Lovely welcoming staff - special shout out to Katja the manager & Marco who ran the bar/drinks. Always a cheery greeting every day :-) We had a spacious room (405) with plenty of storage, ensuite, balcony with view of the piste & a separate seating area with sliding doors that looked like would be a sofa bed if you had kids with you. Cleaners were in every morning keeping everything spick & span. It's a half board hotel. Lovely breakfast with usual continental options (cheese, meats, boiled eggs, the rolls are delicious!) & hot options (usually a variety of scrambled eggs, bacon & frankfurters) Evening meals were a mix of buffet evenings & pre chosen meals that you picked from a menu the day before. Loved the salad bar. I ate waaaay too much food. There is a heated boot room in the basement & it's an easy couple of minutes flat walk to the Achterjet lift. There is a sauna/wellness area, but we didn't use that as we were usually out at the apres ski instead haha! Ski hire - Intersport Arena has a deal with the hotel offering a 20% discount. We hired the top package & they seemed good quality. We had in fact booked with them without knowing this & top marks to them, they refunded the extra we had paid. The ski area itself was good & well linked. The best snow of the area did seem to be on the runs above Flachau so it was a good base for us. Would definitely stay here at this hotel if we came back.
