Used booking.com and the photographs on their site must of been of the best room. The actual room was nothing like them.
Run down, dirty, individually owned so condition varies dramatically.
Room price inflated due to new years eve but going off other reviews and photos we booked. 
Room included "sea view". It was 10cm worth in the distance. View was of a houseos style unit complex below.
Some if the units are peoples residential homes. Had our 8 month old in a pram and a resident was walking around the accomodation tower with his filthy looking  dog off a lead and sniffing into our pram.
Room stunk of cigarette smoke and butts on balcony. 
Location is prime and this alone will unfortunately get them bookings.
Complained to manager "Pani" who told us we had paid over double the standard room rate and she had the nerve to laugh at us. Another room finally offered after we complained to booking.com but it too was tired and dirty. We were not willing to stay and asked Pani if we could leave for refund. She put it back on booking.com and then Visa versa before she finished her shift and was uncontactable despite unhappy customers. Pani had advised we would only lose one night cost before she left then staff said we would lose it all. More phone calls to booking.com and discussing it civilly with staff however they were not willing to honour what their manager said and it was now late and we had our baby to consider so we left. 
We called the hotel back the next day and asked of they had re-sold that room and they admitted they had. Still no refund.
Follow up with overall hotel manager was a waste of time and she defended her staff despite our issues.
We lost around $1500 dollars which is a lot to us and we worked hard for. Please don't make the same mistake we did.
Late review as I have continued to try and resolve this with the hotel and booking.com but they don't see any issues

Been here many times but never again.
This new management has destroyed a wonderful holiday resort. Dirty, tired and in need of a big dose of TLC. 
And not to forget the constant construction noise and the loud machinery at night time across the road for the new light rail. Continuous noise all night and needed ear plugs to sleep. 
Gone to the pack.
What a shame !!

Save your money go elsewhere

We have stayed happily on several prior occasions.  This time, the room was dirty and dingy and definitely not what we booked (not even in the same tower).   Carpet was ripped up in hallway with bare concrete exposed and bad smells throughout.  We didn't stay as we weren't prepared to stay in such poor conditions and staff member said all the rooms were poor quality in that tower.  We were still charged for all three nights and no refund given.  All our attempts at contact have been ignored.

Sadly unable to sleep much during Mon to Fri nights due to to light rail construction over rd in front of pacific fair.
Used ear plugs every night but didn't help much at all.I slept on sofa in lounge,my wife tried sleeping in main bedroom so not ideal at all due to ongoing work at night.Would not recommend staying here until work is finished and guests are not effected by noise at night.
Not the best option if a good night's sleep is important to you.I guess you could spend all night in Star Casino then sleep all day but we couldn't afford that option.Oh and spa not working during our stay and yet another nice Queensland outside pool too cold to swim in due to not being heated..oh and it might be nice also if ALL reception staff supported the lovely couple in their delightful cafe doing a great job and recommended it as highly as it deserves...


Exhausting Two Weeks

Visited the Gold Coast and decided on Bel Air to stay for a few days.

Firstly, the good.

The location was very good being across from Pacific Fair and close to the casino. Also, it is across the road from the G (tram).

The staff are very nice. Special mention to the guy who looked after Foxtel (didn’t get his name) who was super helpful.

There is a café downstairs with a good selection of food and coffee.

Indoor and outdoor pools were in good order.

Room was well appointed except the interior was getting on the tired side.

Not too far to walk to the beach, cafes, and the Kurrawa Club.

The not so good.

Disappointingly we were not informed that there were very noisy construction works across the road that continued until 4 – 5 a.m. in the morning. Had we been told this we would not have stayed there.

Not a big fan of showers in the bath.

The roof deck terrace was in a poor state and was closed.

There were a lot of areas where maintenance works required completion e.g. window frames, missing carpet etc.

Our room was advertised with a beach view. If you are ok with the beach being seen through a small window or if you hang out on the balcony, then this would suit you.

Overall, while the construction works are on, unless the price is right, and you sleep like a log I wouldn’t stay there.

Yeah.. Nah…

Wow wow wow! We stayed in a sub penthouse it was beyond our expectations. Three balconies, amazing views, a visit from kookaburras, rosellas, white cockys all on the 16th floor. We would say the best accommodation we have come across in all our travels. Staff superb, space, cleanliness and position of Bel Air absolutely fabulous. Thank you 😊 haven’t stopped recommending this gem

Bel Air Beauty

We stayed here for the location and stayed in the- North Tower. It was a short walk to Pacific Fair Shopping center. You could walk to Star Casino. Glink (tram) was right out the front across the busy road and a short ride away to Surfers. Margaret Av beach was 8 minute walk away. It was a nice walk every morning. Oracle Boulevard is also within walking distance and has plenty of restaurants, however we only ate there on the first night as we found it expensive. Pizza hut was out the front of Bel Air and a great option if you  want to stay in.
There was a tiny café on site which we didn't use as there was an awesome café a few blocks away.
Pool was good and spa worked well.

Now the room was clean but definitely showed signs of age. Appliances were really old and I am surprised most worked. The inroom hairdryer was broken which we informed Reception of on day 1. On checkout they were again reminded of the broken wall hairdryer. 
You get a "starter pack" which included a small detergent packet, milk, coffee and toiletries and get told that anymore that is required you during your stay you need to pay . You get ONE towel per person for the whole stay. And it wasn't even a bath towel. We asked for an extra towel and was told we would need to pay. Pool towels were not complementary and you also needed to pay if you wanted one.  Reception only operated till 6pm on most days. 

Would I stay  there again.....maybe if the room rate was on sale. But for what we paid and got  I would stay somewhere else next time. There are hotels in the surrounding area that likely provide the same as we got from Bel Air at a cheaper rate.

Also if your staying in Broadbeach it is a quiet area with most restaurants closing at 9pm

Two star review only because the staff are so lovely and helpful. Booked this place last minute because there was nowhere else left to stay in Broadbeach for a family of 3 over Easter. The first apartment we were given was extremely dated and although clean, smelled and it was like staying in the 80s hostel. Hasn’t been updated for prob 30+ years and this is for 3k for 7 days (Easter). Pool Unheated and no one was swimming in it as a result. We were courteously moved to another identical tiny apartment which at least had newish floors and was painted, so a little better but the fridge was so old it constantly made loud noises and we couldn’t sleep, the foldout old couch was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows high and hard so we had to sleep without them. No fan in the bathroom/toilet…..I won’t describe the smell. That’s it in a nutshell….

Just didn’t want to be here

Do not recommend here . Walked in the doors wouldn’t work , things kept breaking for no reason and then to top it off the shower stopped working. When we asked for towels they tried to tell us it was $40 for a bath towel !! These a normally free at every other hotel. Obviously this place is running low on money . Will definitely not be staying here again.

Weekly visit

I keep returning to the Bel Air because it has everything you need - great location; nice rooms; good service; and excellent facilities.
I've been staying at the Bel Air on and off for about 10 years - for short holiday stays.
Location is perfect.  Opposite Pacific Fair; very close to transportation; close to the beach, the casino, great restaurants and the Broadbeach Mall.
It has two very nice pools, great BBQ facilities and the rooms, whilst they are getting a bit old, are still spacious and clean.
The staff at front desk are very helpful and check-in was a breeze.
No complaints from me - highly recommended.
