The entire place is Filthy, crawling with roaches, communal areas are not clean daily, dust, dirt and food scraps all over kitchen floors and benches. Shirting boards and tile top on kitchen bench with months of dirt/dust  Laundry piled high with sheets & towels, communal lounge downstairs is like a laundry room with a commercial linen press and piles of scrunched sheets waiting ironing. Beds rock hard, bathroom not clean needs a blood good scrub, mould & soap scum.. Sheets on bed stained with body fluids (linen is not being commercially laundered) which is disgusting as vulnerable hospital patients stay here regularly and cleanliness/hygiene  is important! We wont be staying here again , mor will we recommend it to anyone! Gave a rating of one due to fact location is good for hospital access. 

Avoid at all costs.. a horse stable would be cleaner! 

Room was dirty, linen was clean. Bathroom looked like it needed a full scrub out. Will never stay there again. The health department would have a field day with the state of the bathroom. All power points were also coated in dust and the glass on the wardrobes was not clean by any chance.

Poor choice.

Noise from renovation at 7.15 am, Had to walk through 2 common areas to get to rooms, Say free coffee and tea and cereal but no milk. Would not go there again..Say there is a courtesy bus, but you don't find out until you get there you have to pay. And when i wanted to go to the hospital they would not take me saying the bus was full, So i walked for 3 days back and forward. AS for the shared shower and toilet, Not good

the only good thing about this hotel is how close it is to the P. A.  the beds were like concrete and pillows even worse, rooms are noise and the customer service was none existant. the care taker could not be bothered to come to the continuously unmanned  reception , instead conducted check ins and out via phone with very poor phone service. not once did I see a staff member and they refused to refund my money after I checked out a day early.

Well in comparison to other accomodation in area definitely not worth the 110 charged for room. Booked through Booking.com and stated no further charges. But ISla HOuse charged me extra 1.14 for what? Rooms are very average. Some share a bathroom which is weird in itself. Can say rooms a clean and bathroom. However no soap in any bathrooms. Have to search around the place to find cake of soap. Next there is no soap holder for soap. Not coming back unless desperate.

Needed accomodation close to hospital

Fully accessible accommodation suitable for PMR but the bathroom is inaccessible in a wheelchair. That's a shame because everything else is perfect. A well-equipped and well-located studio.

We have just spent 10 days at Isla House when my husband  was in hospital. I can't rave enough about it.  Lovely spotless rooms and en suites. Large living areas with great communal kitchens with your own fridge and cupboard. Well appointed entertainment lounges and TVs in rooms.
Shuttles to and from airport and hospitals that are well below taxi prices available at all hours.  Access to extra towells and linen. Near a variety of shops.  Nothing is a trouble to the friendly helpful managers. And all in all it is the perfect most well appointed accommodation you can imagine for medical patients and family with really competitive prices. Home away from home

Isla House is a shared accommodation for the local hospitals. I've stayed many times for treatment at Greenslopes Private Hospital. You get your own room with clean linen and fluffy bath towels and you share with only one other room a bathroom which is kept clean and tidy. The main living space is shared with a large TV and comfy chairs. You get your own refrigerator and locker for food. The kitchen is well equipped and provides a free continental breakfast which you make yourself. They have their own courtesy coach which for a nominal fee will take you to any hospital or transport network. Great value. They also take PTSS patients.

Great Value Fantastic service

Isla house is just like a home away from home in Greenslopes. Excellent for people who have their loved ones in hospital. Full kitchen facilities, comfy lounge area, bbq area, and the bedrooms are
clean and comfortable. Full laundry facilities. 
Staff are friendly and very helpful. Close proximity to supermarkets and take away food. 
There is transport available at a small fee.

Close to hospitals, Bupa approved

Like many other reviewers, we came to Isla House for medical reasons. We weren't looking for luxury or entertainment. All we needed was a place to stay that was close to the Greenslopes Hospital at a reasonable price.

What we got was a clean, friendly and supportive community atmosphere with excellent service and clean rooms close enough for me to walk to the hospital.. Isla House is designed to encourage guests to interact with each other during their stay. We found ourselves encouraging and being encouraged by the other guests, It was unexpected and surprisingly welcome therapy.

Although Isla House is run by Simon and his mother, at the time we were there Simon's mother was travelling and he was handling everything on his own -  including scheduled transportation, check-in of guests and supplying the kitchens with some basics. From the moment Simon picked us up at the airport, we felt better about what lay ahead. He was so kind and supportive that by the time we left, we had become friends. 
This isn't a typical B&B or a typical hotel. It is a special place with managers who respond to the accommodation needs of their guests with kindness, consideration and understanding.
