I stayed in this hostel 3 separate times of varying duration and really enjoyed it! The facilities are average but the layout fosters community and the staff is very friendly. Great place to meet people! This ended up being one of my favorite hostels in Australia

Great atmosphere

We stayed here for 4 nights but would not have wanted to stay any longer. The beds are comfy but the rooms are quite small. Also if you're on the top bunk there is no power point near you. Wi-Fi ok, not too slow. Nice downstairs toilets and showers. The upstairs ones aren't so great and could do with a deep clean. But they do have a proper bathroom (toilet, sink shower all in one room) which is nice. Didn't get shown around and staff weren't very present. Kitchen very small. Suitable for a few nights as it is in a good location but any longer than that wouldn't be particularly enjoyable.

Average stay

I stayed there for 2 nights. Staff was very friendly. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. The kitchen could have been cleaner. Free Wi-Fi is provided and even working in the bedrooms. It is about 10 minutes to the city center on foot. 


Very good.

I really love this place! I have been traveling for quite some time and coming to Adelaide Backpackers Inn always gives me a feeling of being home. The building has a student house feel to it. It creates an family like atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped ( They have actual scales for baking and an oven!!! ) and cleaned daily. There is heaps of free stuff too! Coffee, tea, milk, bike hire, washing powder, BBQ use etc. 
The staff is incredibly helpful and always up for a chat. Any issues I had (locked myself out a couple of times :) ) were resolved within minutes.
The location is pretty awesome as well. Its a bit down from Rundle Mall so you get the comfort of a quiet street but you are close to everything at the same time. 
Overall, I love this place and I will always come back when I am in Adelaide.

Home away from home

I found this hostel to be clean, although the curtain in my room was very broken. The location is very good and close to the main street and supermarkets. It is a very simple accomodation but i had everything i could ask for. Wifi was free as well. This place was a bit noisy at night.

Nice location

Of course it's in a great location just a few steps from downtown. The staff is very kind and always available. Some staff members live in the hostel. The rooms are okay. The atmosphere inside is cheerful. The only drawback is the bathrooms.

That's good!

Positive: I had a great stay here! The hostel is affordable, perfect for meeting other travelers. There are aircons almost everywhere, which run very quietly, thankfully. I was in room B. I can't say much about the others. The kitchen was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There are toilets in abundance and they were just as clean. For $4 you can also wash your laundry here. In the kitchen there was coffee and free tea. Negative: the wool was a disaster and the computers were also outdated and free. If you do with free stuff, we should also work slowly!

It's great to meet people.

It is difficult to find. It is also something that has come of age.You would rather not sit in the community room, because the furniture looks very spicy and it is also very oddly oriented in the room.The staff at the reception answered somewhat annoyingly.The quality of sleep was okay.The sunscreen available was positive.

It doesn't have to be...

A good hostel, quite central location but not in a chaotic area, close to the stop of many buses and trams (free tram until midnight that runs through the entire central area of the city) and local area accessible even on foot. free wifi h24, kitchen and outdoor space where to eat, friendly reception staff and always available to give advice on what to see and where to go. Clean rooms, soap in the bathrooms, lounge area with TV. There are two cleaners who spend every morning in all common areas. 2 showers on the upper floor and 3 on the lower floor.

I recommend it!

I booked this hostel after seeing the tripadvisor feedings but they don't reflect reality. In fact the hostel itself is divided into two different establishments: HOSTEL 109 and HOSTEL 112. I stayed in the second and I guarantee you that the kitchen and bathrooms are not clean at all.
