When we arrived, they welcomed us very kindly. They showed us their house and Denis parked the car in the private squares that they have for their guesthouse. The location is perfect!!! The room was very nice, clean and with everything needed to have a pleasant stay: air conditioning, fridge, shower with rooftop (hard to find in Albania)... The best part of the place is the wonderful terrace that they have overlooking the thousands of windows in Berat.

The first thing I want to highlight is the serviced attitude of the owner of the Guesthouse.The room is spacious, clean and comfortable.The breakfast is very good and as if it were a theater the terrace with beautiful views of the city, valley and mountains.

The location was fantastic, and our spacious corner room offered a breathtaking view. We enjoyed the beautiful terrace where we also had a delightful breakfast in the morning.

Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the owner towards the end. Despite everything seeming fine, she eventually asked for more money than the original price of our stay. We wanted to pay in the local currency, but she demanded a higher amount (4,600 LEK instead of 4,260) on the grounds that 'this is business' and 'our lack of understanding regarding the exchange rate.' It was bizarre, considering the exchange rate at the time was 1 euro to 107 LEK. Paying in euros was possible (at the correct price of €40), but we didn't have any cash euros on hand. This option was therefore not feasible. It remains a mystery why a higher amount was requested in LEK than in euros, especially since LEK’s don’t need to be converted while euros do.

In the end, we paid 4,300 instead of 4,600. However after the payment, we mentioned that everything was fine, but we couldn't ignore the negative feeling this incident had caused us which we raised to the owner. Unfortunately, our concerns were not appreciated. After a brief discussion, where she emphasized that 'this is business' and 'we don't understand,' she left slamming the door. Literally.

If 'this is business' means guests leaving with a negative experience, then it was certainly achieved.

The fact that we had to be vigilant about this issue and that our concerns were not handled professionally is deeply disappointing.

It's a real shame because this could have been a fantastic stay from beginning to end as you can see on the pictures. But, unfortunately, it wasn't and has left us with quite a bitter aftertaste.

Watch out for exchange rate when paying

My family (four of us) spent close to 2 weeks in Albania and this was our best experience. If you are in Berat for the great look of the ancient city (which most people are there for) you cannot do better than this location. The view from the terrace is priceless. It is the view they use for all those postcards. Also, it is right next to the walk to the castle further up. Again, you couldn't possibly pick a better location.
If location was the best you can have, service was right there with it. Mira and her sons were always accommodating and helpful.
The place itself was modern and very functional from the inside. We saw all sort of places in our extended trip in Albania, but Arben Elezi impressed us with the upgraded rooms (flooring, bathroom fixtures, beds - basically everything). You can tell they spared no expense. Keep in mind that this is in a somehow inaccessible part of town (vehicle-wise), so I can only imagine what it may have taken to upgrade what typically is a very traditional home.
Having said above, there is parking, albeit limited. You have to be resourceful when parking and it helps if your vehicle is small.
Breakfast was traditional Albanian breakfast - we loved it. It is made on the spot and very fresh. That also means that it is not buffet style and it is what they have prepared for the day. You get the full Albanian experience.
I learned from the owner, that they don't accommodate young children. I completely agree with her. There are very few children who would appreciate what Berat would offer  - I left mine home and came with just my parents and children. 
I would always look for Arben Elezi accomodation when I travel to Berat.

Excellent location and excellent and modern accommodations in this very traditional Albanian city

Super address very functional. It may not be authentic even though the reception is excellent. We enjoyed the location, breakfast and the cleanliness of the rooms. The common terrace is great and we spent a lot of time there.

We totally recommend the guesthouse. Roof terrace with wonderful view where meals are served. Good wifi and parking available. Central location but very quiet- so one can sleep without any problems. Great Host with her sons taking care of their family guesthouse. Truly exceptional

The best place in Berat

A gem of a guest house. The owner, Mira was the absolute sweetest and we felt like we were her family. Room was clean and well cared for. Parking easily accessible outside guesthouse. The selling point of Mira’s property aside from her hospitality is the amazing rooftop terrace that looks out over Berat. wow. Her breakfast was all homemade and was so special. We were so sad to leave this guesthouse and wished we could have stayed longer.

Host makes you feel like family!

So here you are you can be in the summum of quality in Berat and this guesthouse located in the best neighborhood of the city: Mangalem is very well located, in a quiet corner, with private parking in the cobbled street, with exceptional views of the typical facades of Berat houses and a very high quality building for a very small price. Mira its owner will be under little care throughout your stay, making it unforgettable. Its rooms are all recently renovated with taste and refinement, are modern and functional, large sized with a very good quality mattress, it's just very clean.

It is a great location. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. Hosts are so kind. It is one of the best places I rested. The breakfast is great! The parking is just in front. It is near the castle, and near centre. The view is amazing. 10/10, thank you. Highly recommended!

Best place to rest in berat!

The value of this Place is amazing. 
Location wise it is in the middle of everything. 
The photos don’t do it justice. As a solo Traveller the owner was kind enough to take a few pictures for me. 
Breakfast is served on the balcony with this amazing view. 

They have a fridge as well if you’d like to purchase and drinks which was handy after returning from a lovely evening. 

Parking is available and the owners son happily parked my car to allow extra room for others to park.
