What a great hotel and restaurant. Just a 10 minute tuktuk ride from the Royal Palace the Surin Boutique hotel is a little gem. On arrival we were greeted with a fresh coconut drink whilst completing the paperwork. We were originally allocated a room on the 4th floor (despite requesting an upper floor room). On pointing this out they happily moved us to room 11A The room was spacious with a large bathroom with a walk in shower and a balcony . Quirky decor adds to the charm of the hotel. Up-cycled shutters, old panelling and beautiful china vases abound. There is a pool on floor 14 with an ample supply of towels available, 6 loungers and a table and chairs. We dined in the hotel on the first night. The ground floor was full (a great sign) and they were using the first floor restaurant too. Despite the number of diners, food service times were good, the staff attentive and always on hand. But best of all was the delicious food. Couldn’t be faulted. The breakfast menu was extensive and coffee good and strong. The staff in every department of the hotel were always smiling and willing to help. The young lady on reception organised laundry for us which was returned the same evening. Room cleaning was immaculate with fresh towels, dressing gowns and soap / shower gel etc provided.
